They said that the governors of Louisiana and Texas and of Pacific coast states would support that effort, too. These states now get royalties from oil produced in their state waters but get nothing from oil produced beyond the three-mile limit in federal waters. Second, the companies supported creation of an environmental superfund - a pool of money that would be used to clean up oil spills when the company responsible cannot be pinpointed. And, third, they agreed to have the Atlantic Offshore Committee of the American Petroleum In- stitute work closely with a governmental committee that I will appoint to get hard and fast answers to a series of complex questions. Last week's meeting did not ask or answer every question. It was not intended to. It was in- tended to open a dialogue and to get a commitment of cooperation from the oil industry. A tender and sensitive portrayal of mature love and family responsibility, starring Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard. Come down to the South Far- mingdale Branch • Library at Merritt Road and Boundary Avenue on Thursday, December 9, at 7:30 and enjoy. side of Prospect Street near Bernard Street, a block and a half from the Bankers Trust branch office on Conklin St. Police said Mrs. Zorn was probably intercepted in the bank's parking lot, then driven to Prospect St. and shot. The deposit, $6,000 in cash and $10,000 in checks never got to the bank. Police Inspector William Meddis reported the assailant had acted in such haste that he failed to take her earrings and three rings before he fled. Mrs. Zorn was helping out at the poultry farm this week because her husband, Peter, suffered a leg fracture and was hospitalized. At 1:30 p.m. she stuffed the cash and checks into a bag and drove to the bank. Two hours later, clerks in the store became alarmed because she had not returned. They called the bank, were told Mrs. Zorn had never arrived there, and telephoned police. At about the same time, police received a call from a Prospect St. housewife. She said a 17 year neighborhood youth had seen a woman slumped in the front seat of a car. Police found Mrs. Zorn's body slumped in the middle of the front seat, leading them to believe that the assailant forced his way into the car and driven it to the death scene. Inspector Meddis asked anyone with information on the case to call 746-1111.
