Farmingdale Singer At Music Fair Monday TELLY SAVALAS Starring with Telly will be Kaye Ballard, a formidably talented actress, singer & comedienne, who is considered \an entertainer's entertainer.\ Savalas will be seen in spirited song and dance numbers ably assisted by three back-up singers and three dancers. Overall, claim many of the reviewers, his is a well-conceived, expertly staged act that's just the right vehicle for the TV cop. Savalas copes well with a song and comes out with flying colors. ^Thoroughly relaxed and clearly having fun as he talks about family and friends, Telly rarely refers to Kojak. And in the Detective's place is a likeable entertainer with miles of charm. Telly Savalas was born Aristotle Savalas (Telly is a Diminutive) in Garden City, L.I. His acting career started when he was unable to help a theatrical agent find an actor who could correctly do a particular European accent. Telly went to the audition on a whim and to his astonishment,was signed for the part in Armstrong's Circle Theatre's live production of \Bring Home A Baby.\ Burt Lancaster was so impressed by his commanding presence that he signed him for the role of Feto Gomez in \Birdman bf Alcatraz.\ For that role he received an Academy Award nomination as best; supporting actor in 1962. Kaye Ballard was discovered in Detroit by the late Spike Jones. She toured the vaudeville circuit with him, then with Vaughn Monroe and still later with Stan Kenton. Moving to New York, she appeared in local nightclubs while making the rounds hoping for a Broadway play. Her break came and she was cast in \Three By day, Tim Huss leaves the Farmingdale office of H2M CORP. at 341 Conklin Street for field ecological studies. By night, he sings at various bistros in the bi-county area. The height of Tim's night time activities to date, will occur Monday night, November 22, at 8:30 at Westbury Music Fair. Tim Huss will perform his solo guitar vocal act of contemporary folk- rock music, as part of a three-act show including a top 40's rock band KAL-I-API and the fabulous sound of the recording group \The Enchantments.\ Seven years ago, Tim entered S.U.N.Y. Agricultural and Technical College at Far- mingdale, where he majored in Biological Technology. After graduating from good ole F.U., Tim transferred to the College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry at Syracuse, where he majored in wildlife biology. After receiving his B.S. from Syracuse, Tim came to H2M Corp. where he serves as the company's Terrestrial r E r c,plogist. While in the field setting traps or counting rabbit droppings, it is reported that he practices his singing. His hobbies include bird watching, where he also obtains pointers for his night time activities. Why don't we go to the Westbury Music Fair on November 22nd and watch TIM HUSS? First Kings Park Concert The first concert in a series for Kings Park by the Orchestra Da Camera will be off to a flying start Saturday, November 20, at 8:30 p.m. in Kings Park High School, when guest conductor, Christian Badea, will also per- form as soloist in Bach's Violin Concerto in A Major. Badea is a Roumanian born and conducted throughout Europe until a few years ago when he was brought to the United States to head the Juilliard Orchestra in New York. Last season Badea conducted the Orchestra Da Camera in Kings Park and was so enthusiastically received that he returns by popular demand. Besides the Bach Violin Con- certo, the program will include Eine Kleine Nachtmusik by Mozart, St. Paul's Suite by Hoist and Tellemann's Don Quixote Suite. Tickets are $6. at the door, $12.50 for a series of three. Other dates in the series are February 5 and April 23, 1977. For ticket information call 669-1583 week- days 9-4 or 757-3776 evenings. The Kings Park series is free to season ticket holders of the three concert Farmingdale Series. Holiday Crafts As a special Thanksgiving Program for its young people, the Children's Room of the Far- mingdale Public Library will offer a holiday craft and cooking session on Tuesday, November 23 from 4 - 5 p.m. at both its Main Library and its South Branch. Children registered for the program will be making a Thanksgiving craft for their holiday table and taking part in the preparation of Cranberry Relish. Materials will be provided by the library, but children are asked to bring a small empty jar (baby food jars are good) so they may take home some relish. Both programs will have limited registration, and are open to school-age children only, due to the nature of the programs.
