Shoppers Win Circus Tickets The Greatest Show on Earth, Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus opened yesterday at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and lucky Farmingdale shoppers collected 50 free tickets from The Farmingdale Post. The winners were selected from the coupons deposited with the local Farmingdale merchants during the past two weeks. Two finalist coupons were selected from each participating mer-. chant's store. The prize winners were then selected from this group of finalists. The prizes were broken down into three groups. There were two grand prize winners, receiving a block of ten circus tickets each. There were four second prize winners of a five ticket block each and five winners each receiving a pair of tickets. The ticket-passes to the circus are valued at $7.50 each and can be exchanged for reserved seats at the Coliseum box office. The grand prize winners were Catherine Dempsey, 9 Cedar Drive, and Gary Fischer, 5 Walnut Ave. Second prize win- ners were Angelo J. Flu Shots This Sunday For Nassau Residents Residents of Nassau County, from 18 years of age through 64, are eligible to be immunized with swine flu vaccine this Sunday, November 14, at 27 community sites throughout the County - except those who already have received the bivalent vaccine. The immunizations will be administered without charge by volunteers for the Nassau County Dalers Win Press Awards John A. McLennan, principal of Farmingdale High School, an- nounced that at the recent con- vention of the Empire State School Press Association at Syracuse University, the three school publications, Hi-Life, The Paper Lion, and Muse & Media, were recipients of 22 awards in various aspects of school jour- nalism. Of the twentytwo awards garnered, the school newspaper, The Paper Lion, received 13; the school yearbook, Hi-Life, got 5; and the school literary magazine, Muse & Media, took 4. McLennan further announces that three seniors, Jamie Powers, Linda Price, and Marcy Zevon, were recipients of Achievement Awards in writing sponsored by the National Council of the Teachers of English. Seventy-five such awards were presented to New York State finalists, and Far- mingdale students won three of them. Department of Health from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The single (monovalent) dose of A New Jersey (swine) flu vaccine will be offered again on November 21 and on December 5. On the two previous Sundays, the County's high-risk population received a bivalent vaccine - a combination of A Victoria and Swine. Flu shots also may be obtained from private physicians, who must not charge for the vaccine but who may require a fee for administration. Those persons who are allergic to eggs or who have had a cold or fever within 24 hours before the time of vaccination should not take part in the program, Dr. John J. Dowling, commissioner of the Nassau County Depart- ment of Health, said. For further information, telephone the Department at 535- 3410.
