jf Las Vegas Law [Continued from page 1] Wagering Board would have the right to temporarily suspend any license issued by the Town Clerk, pending' a hearing. o Full disclosure of receipts and expenses would be made to the Town Clerk within seven days of any licensed period and the licensed organization would pay the Town Clerk a percentage not exceeding 5% of the net proceeds, to be remitted to the County to defray its incurred costs. • Any violation of the local law would be considered a misdemeanor punishable by a maximum fine of $1,000 and/or a six month jail sentence Persons or organizations convicted of a violation would be ineligible for further licenses from the Town for a period of one year. Supervisor Burke explained that the Town Board will consider adoption of the local law after the hearing so as to meet the time requirements necessary to place the proposal on the November 2nd ballot. The Town measure must be approved by a majority of the electors in Oyster Bay's unincorporated areas in order to take effect on January 1, 1977. The public hearing will be conducted as part of the Town Board's regularly scheduled meeting, which will begin at 10 am in the Hearing Room of Town Hall East in Oyster Bay hamlet. The proposed local law can be examined in the Town Clerk's Office on the second floor of Town Hall East between the hours of 9 am and 4:45 pm Monday through Friday. Perfect Record The Secretary of the New York State Senate commended State Senator Owen H. Johnson this week on his perfect attendance record during the 1976 legislative session. Roger Thompson, as Secretary of the Senate, has the respon- sibility of keeping the attendance and voting records of the Senators. It was after the final tabulation of these records that he sent a letter to Senator Johnson citing his perfect at- tendance. Not only was Senator Johnson present for each of the 71 voting days, but he was also one of a few of the 60 Senate members to have voted on every bill before that house. In the 71-day period, 1978 individual bills were voted on - 291 more than last year. Senator Johnson is currently serving his second term in the New York State Senate, and his 4th Senate District covers por- tions of both Suffolk and Nassau Counties. Village Sets [Continued from page 1] Village firemen fear that the county system will delay their response time to emergencies. They oppose the village con- version to the county system. The trustees see the conversion to county dispatching as an economy move to save future tax increases by eliminating the salaries of the three local dispatchers. Friday night's hearing will be held in the Farmingdale Village Hall. • : Definition Small Boy; A restless noise with dirt on it. -Tradewinds, Honolulu.
