Aleshin 1652 950 Seniors To Graduate FHS Sunday Approximately 950 Far- mingdale High School seniors will march to the tune of Pomp and Circumstance as they enter the State University at Far- mingdale's gymnasium this Sunday, June 20, for the 60th annual commencement exer- PROCLAMATIONS OF APPRECIATION were awarded Monday night by Farmingdale Mayor John f . Hallahan and the village trustees to the chairman and co-chairman of the village's Hardscrabble Fair Committee, who ran the event for the first time under village sponsorship. The proclamations were presented to Post Editor Robert J. Starrett, chairman, and Rose Mary Schweitzer, co-chairman, during the regular board meeting. Watching the mayor make the presentation are trustees Rocco Possillco, Owen W. Drugan, Fred Rathgeber ju^Httb B. Canaan, Jr. THE AMERICAN LEGION AWARD for meritorious service was presented to Miss Marie Aqualina, director of the East Memorial School Chorus, by Young Memorial Post #1803 of East Farmingdale. The presentation was made during a testimonial dinner last Thursday night at the Manor East in Massapequa by Third Vice Commander Larry Ryan. Mrs. Ann Sidorski presented the PTA Certificate of Appreciation and Arthur Sum bier, assistant principal, presented letters of appreciation written by parents. Following the invocation by Ronald Keats and the playing of the National Anthem, Principal John A. McLennan will introduce the honored guests. Class President Angelyn Gulotta will address her peers, followed by a Bicentennial salute to \The Original Thirteen\ by the High School Band. Board of Education President Robert Weiss will present the Board of Education Award and will award the diplomas to the graduating seniors as they are . introduced by Dr. William A. Kinzler, superintendent of schools. Relatives and friends attending the graduation exercises are urged to use the main college entrance on Route 110 with direct access to the parking areas, thus avoiding traffic congestion at the Melville Road entrance. Police Nab Beer Burglar An 18 year old South Far- mingdale youth was arrested Monday evening by Eighth Squad detectives and charged with the June 6 burglary of the Silhouette Lounge. Police said Detective R. Meyer arrested Joseph Hopper, 18, of 41 Mill Road, and charged him with third degree burglary. Hopper allegedly entered the Silhouette Lounge through a rear window, police said, and took 40 cases of beer.
