Arnzen. The able and outspoken deputy, who has served Town Clerks Arthur McComb , Robert Cooney and Mr. Arnzen , is expecting a child in March . Always well- Informed on the details of a multitude of town matters , Mrs. Acampora will be missed by members of the town ' s press corps. In her letter to Mr. Arnzen , Mrs. Acampora said that she would \ wish very much to return to my duties as deputy clerk when 1 have finished my con- valescence. \ Speaking for the board , Mr. Dominy said , \ We look forward to your return . \ The super- visor praised Mrs. Acampora as \ one of our most lo yal em- employes. \ Jokingly, he offer- ed to be of assistance in the choice of a name—or names for her offspring. Asked by the supervisor if she would like to say anything, Mrs. Acampora shook her head , and there were tears in her eyes. Reg istrar Question The board voted unanimously to appoint Mr. Arnzen as reg- istrar of vital statistics. Dem- ocrat John J. Foley, who took his seat for the first time Tues- day after being iclected in No- verrber , voted ** yes \ on the res - olution , which also provided for the appointment of Mr. Raynor as deputy registrar of vital stat- istics. Mr. Arnzen will receive $2 , 500 annually for the position , ln addition to his annual $10 , 500 town clerk' s salary. Mr. Raynor will not receive a salary as a deputy registrar. He receives $8 , 500 annually as deputy town clerk , Mrs . Acampora ' s annual salary. Is $6 , 000. In his remarks , Mr. Foley reminded the board of his \ pos- tion \ on the town clerk' s receiving registrar ' s fees. Dur- ing the two years that he served on the board after Mr. Dominy ' s 1961 election , Mr. Foley voted against Mr. Arnzen ' s appoint- ment at each of the two organ- izational meetings as the registrar. He and Councilman Frank Coveney and the late Coun- cilman • Howard Rowland were outvoted each time by Mr . Dom- iny, and Councllmen David Weissberger , George Fuchs , and Clarence Hough. On Tuesday Mr. Foley noted that there are \ actually two re- solutions in one , \ Explaining his \ yes \ vote , Mr. Fole y said that he \ could not vote against the appointment of Percy Ray- nor. \ Both Mr. Arnzen and Mr. Raynor will serve one-year- terms. Legal Papers Designated as the town ' s legal newspapers were The Long Is- land Advance , The Main Street Press , Moriches Bay Tide , Newsday, The Long Island Press , Mid-Island News , The Port Jef- ferson Record , The Port Jeffer- erson Times , The Three Vil- lage Herald and The Ronkonko- ' ma Review.. Twenty banks and their bran- ches were designated as town depositories. Thirteen legal holidays were set for 1965. Mr. Dominy ex- plained that the board has no Intention of \ setting a prece- dent \ by adding one more than the usual 12 . He said the board had decided upon December 24 as a holiday since Christmas falls on Saturday this year. Charles Ertmaii , who will as- sume his dutle*r ^ as the called pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church later this month , ar- rived in Centereach this week , with his family, to take up resi- dence at the church parsonage here at 93 Eastwood Bouleva rd. The Rev. Mr. Ertman will of- ficially assume his pastoral duties following his installation to be held Jan. 17 at 4 p.m. He will preach his first sermon Jan- uary 24. An invitation to attend ths in- stallation ceremony ls extended to members of the congregation and friends , parents of the child- ren enrolled ln Sunday School and any Interested residents of Cente reach and the neighboring area. Following the installa- tion service , a reception will be held in the church basement , where all may welcome the Rev. Mr. Ertman comes to Our Savior from Gethsemane Church of Hackettstown , N. J., where he was the founding pas- tor beginnin g in 1955. A native of Lockport , he at- tended Trinity Lutheran School and Lockport High School , whe re he graduated as presi- dent of the Senior class and re- ceived two awards for outstand- ing service to his school. He graduated from Concordia Col- legiate institute ln Bronxvllle , in 1950 , and completed hid studies at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis , Mo. While at the seminary, he did student field work at Good Shep- herd Lutheran Church in St. Louis. In the Summer of 1952 , he was student pastor at Calvery Lutheran Church , Seneca Falls , From - July 1953 to July 1954 , he vlcared at Hope Lutheran Church , Levlttown , Pa. While ln Hackettstown , the Rev. Mr. Ertman was active in community affairs and the mid- get athletic program. He served on the recreation commission for s even years and on the juvenile conference committee of Hac- kettstown.
