Islip Tom Chaffer The regular meeting of The Islip Presbyterian Sr. Citizens Club will be held Wednesday, April 30th at 1 pm instead of Wednesday, April 16th , as a majority of members will be attending a matinee at Sardies. Mrs. Carol Ferlauto , President of the Eastern Islip Unit wants to remind local residents that April is Cancer Control Month and marks the beginning of the residential phase of the American Cancer Society ' s Educational-Fund Raising Crusade. With a residential goal of $235 , 000 set for Long Islan d , 34 , 000 ACS volunteers will join thousands of other crusaders in all 50 states and Puerto Rico who will go into their community distributing lifesaving educational literature and seeking funds for the Society ' s cancer control programs of research , education , patient service and rehabilitation and on Long Island , the Nassau County Cancer Detection Center in Plainview . \When a Heart Attack strikes , what can you do?\ Answers to this all important question will be answered Wednesday, April 16 , at Colonie Hill, Hauppauge. . .
