VISIT Members of the Islip Fire Department made their annual visit lo the Wing School during National Fire Prevention Week. Students of the Kindergarten , First and Second grades attended a demonstration of the aerial ladder and fire fighting equip- ment of Hook and Ladder No. I. Vincent Dinecn and his son Vincent , and Mr. Anthony Cadello explained the use of the equi pment and fire safety precautions. ANNUAL PLAY NOVEMBER« Members of the Class of 1972 can be found each night al school working hard on their annual presentation , which this year will be \Once Upon a Mattress. \ The production will be presented on Saturday evening, November 6 at 8:00 P.M. in the auditorium of the Islip High School. The production is under the direction of Mrs. Helen Fried- man , and the cast is headed up by Sue Kakowski , Rickey Leed , Claire Matsik and Carol McGinley. Sets and scenery are being supervised by Joe Friedman and the music will be supplied by a small combo of seniors led by Jerry Sander. The price of admission is $1.00 Twenty-eight firms processed grapes in New York State during 1970. In regard to our Installation Dinner , which will be held at Castle Inn , Montauk Highway, Islip, Dec. 2nd , please see that the captain of your table gives his or her reservation for your table to our Chairman . In other words, when you come in you only have to mention your cap- tain ' s name and Ernie will be able to tell you just what table you are sitting at and this will avoid a lot of confusion and rushing for seats. Twenty-three of our members , together with our band , visited Kings Park State Hospital Oct. 14th , and the patients really look forward to our visits. The officers and members of committees were so busy taking reservations and selling tickets lhat Grand Central station had nothing on us. Many of our members p lan to attend the Islip Theatre party on October 28 to see Julie Andrews in Diamond Lil. The performance starts at 12:30 and if the day is mild , refreshments will be served on the patio; otherwise the man- agement will have us inside. Admissio n is 75 cents . A goodly number of our members will attend the per- formances of \Fiddler on the Roof\ given by the Islip Repertory Company at Recreation Village , Clayton Street , Central Islip on November 4th and 11th. Per- formance starts at 8:30 and admission for Senior Citizens is $1.00. Due to the fact thai our next meeting day conflicts with Election Day, the November meetings will take place Nov. 16 and Nov. 30. Nomination and election of officers will be held during this month; installation of officers will take place at Lands End , Sayville on December 7th.
