Brentwood School Launches Ce nsus i wenty - one Census Enumerators are canvassing the 24 square mrle Brentwood School District George E Klein , Coordinator of Attendance and Census for the District , expects the work to be completed rn three weeks The enumerators may call at the home between 2 01) P M and 7.00 PM Monday - Friday The information , which is required b y State Law . is the name of the chrld' s parents , or legal guardian , all the children ' s names , ages , birthdays and grade and whether they attend public, private , parochial school or college. In addition, they will verify the telephone number , home address and the number ol people living in the house. Adults without children will also be counted. Postage - free forms , requesting the above rnformation will be left at those houses where nobody is home. Each enumerator has an identification badge with his name , picture , and number on it. Central registration and school transfers take place on a daily basis at the Attendance and Census Office located on Wisconsin Avenue , adjacent to the Oak Park School , between the ours of 8 30 a.m and 3 pm. Monday - Friday In order to register a child the parent , or legal guardian , must bring proof ol birth dates , and a recent report card or transfer card Documents proving measles , smallpox and polio immunizations are im- portant to have with you By having an accurate count of children now in school and those who will attend in the future , it is possible for the district to plan for orderly future growth. Oct 19 the long awaited meeting con- cerning Bay Shores parking dilemma took p lace at Klynn ' s Restaurant in Ba> Shore This meeting was conceived and planned b\ Frederick H Badenuis , President of the Bay Shore Chamber ol Commerce who intends this and other meet rugs of this type to result in greater parttcrpation on the part ol the Bay Shore Merchants to correct the many problems , such as parking, which has been plaguing the business community and inconveniencing the residents Mr Badenuis was treated to a rough and tumble reactton from the audience , sometimes unfairly so , because apart from not being responsible for the decision of the Town Board who are responsible for this situation , he is establishing this type of meeting as a forum to enable the mer- chants to air their views and problems Although Roberts Rules con - cerning the orderly running of meetings were sometimes flagrantly disregarded , it seems that everyone had their chance to air their views on this most important of topics Adding their presence to this vital meeting, which by the way was attended by ISO peo p le (membe rs and non- niembers ) , Mr Peter Cohalan, Richard Dennison , Pat Adams , Ixuiis Polumbr. Lt WurU , John Kinnerty. Lyn Weber & Herman Hammer Mr Cohalan and Mr Dennison were invited by the Chamber to lend whatever power , influence or expertise available Each in their turn Mr. Cohalan and Mr. Dennison rendered their opinions and suggestions on how the situation could be solved.
