THE BEE POPE MILLS busy Jan. 31—Everybody is shoveling snow these days. Our mail man was unable to make his trip Tuesday, on account of poor roads. Isaac Ferris, while working in the woods last Thursday, for S. C. Wid- rick, got struck on the head with a limb, cutting him quite badly. He drove to Heuvelton where Dr. Mulholland took seven stitches in it. Allie Widrick spent Sunday at his home. ' Mr. and Mrs. Garner Brown from Ogdensburg, spent Sunday at S. C. Widrick's. Roxie Widrick spent Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. D. Thornton. Mrs. A. Gascon is on the sick list. Jan. 30—On account of the severe snow storm our mail man was un- able to go Tuesday. School is closed here this week a? the teacher, Miss^Farley, is ill. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hastingi- spent Sunday with their son, War- ren at Gouverneur. Allen Putman and family oi Rossie, spent Thursday evening at W. Putman's. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Seeker of Gouverneur, spent a few dayy last week at John Hill's. Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Neil spent one day last week at L. E. Partridge's. Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Hutchinson, Mrs. Stammer and the Gilbert sister visited Fred Cooper's one day last week. Mytral Hutton of Brasie Corners, spent last week at Geo. Murton's. Mrs. E. B. Woodworth spent last Friday at James Cooper's. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Raven visited at Geo. Murton's, Sunday. Guests at L. E. Partridge's Sun- day were: Mrs- Mary McDougal, Mr. and Mrs. Rob. McDougal and children, Lewis Leaf of Morristown. and Earnest Kelly. Nelson Drummonds, Mrs. Nellie Richardson and children spent Sun- day with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Putman of Redwood, are visiting at Frank Putman's. Guy Dake who passed Regents Examinations here last week left Wednesday for HailesUoro to attend school here. Let us all hope the bear don't see his shadow next Saturday Feb. 2. Seaman, Mrs. Ettie Rice and Mrs. Stowell spent last Wednesday in Ogdensburg. Mr. and Mrs. John Kendrew attended the meeting of the Rebec- ca's at Heuvelton last Tuesday evening. Airnworth Spring is on the sick list. Clyde Colton is home after spend- ing a few weeks with his uncle Alonzo Todd of Canton. Miss Hazel VanSchaick visited at Charles Stone's one evening last week. Mrs. Flora Woodcock spent last Wednesday afternoon at Mrs. Hila Walker's of Rensselaer Falls. A number of the pupils of dis- trict No. 8, took Regents at Rensse- laer Falls High School last week. During the services Sunday a slight fire was started in the base- ment caused by an over heated pipe but was extinguished with out much difficulty. Mrs. Ralph Childs visited her sister Mrs. Herbert Risley of De- kalb Jet. recently. Mrs. Geo. Spring was called to Rilchville last week by the serious illness of her sister Mrs. Sterens.
