Corbett wag fighting fast- er on his feet at this stage, using his fancy boxing tactics, but, they wore cf no use against his burly opponent. This Wat Corbett'i Round. Round 8. Corbott staggered Joff wjtk a left to the nose and ducked Jetfs left Jeff hooked right to the body, Corbott sent In half a dozen left and rights On Jeff's face which he accepted pleasantly. Jeff was coming toward his man all the time and in a break- away almost landed right on the Jasv. Jeff put hard left to tho body, got two lefts on the face and came back with left on the head.. Corbett tried to stab Joff in the eyes but thus far his blows had not raised a bump. Corbett fought cleverly at this stage. He seemed' to Improve a hundred per cent and tho great crowd was in a state of great excitement They cheered him to the etho. This was Cosbott's round. He had changed his style and was using some oftvhis -old time cleverness in ducking and blocking., . Round 0. Jeff cams at Corbett -with a rush like that of a mad bull. He repeatedly stabbed Jeff on the mouth with lefts. Corbett's left cheek showed a lump from one of JOft's close arm - blows. JelT had a similar mark. Jeff hooked left to the body and the referee had trouble separating them. At the close Corbett stabbed Jeff's mouth with his left three times but they were weak efforts. Bound 10. Jeff stbod- straight up and came after his man without hesi- tation.
