The Rangers of Rochester were defeated by the Medina baseball team in a hotly contested game at Oak Orchard Park yesterday afternoon by a score of 5 to 2. The principal feature of the game was Barcherals' pitching, the visitors being allowing only three hits from his delivery. At the afternoon meeting of the firemen's convention yesterday, it was voted to add to the present organization the counties of Living- ston, Wyoming and Cattaraugus, making k-total of nine counties. A- committee was appointed to see what could be done towards uniting this association and Genesee firemen's association. The committee was instructed to report at the conven- tion next year at Gowanda, the date of which as established by laws is the last Tuesday and Wednesday of July. Resolutions of regret over the death of Mr. Midgjey of Albion, a member of the association, and Mr, Rodney, who died while fighting a fire in Lockport last winter, were adopted and ordered spread on the minutes. President Larkin annooncod that the election of officers for tho cur- rent year was in order. He thanked t'te association for tho honor confer- red upon him for making him their President for die past two years, and stated that he was not a candi- date for re-nomination. Former (\Vice President Philip I. Brust of this place was unanimously chosen to succeed Mr. Larkin as President of the Association, an honor which Mr. Brust, and Medina as well, may justly feel proud. That Mr. Brast will provo a . worthy successor to President Larkin, who has so faith- fully performed the duties*of that office'for two terms, no ono who know him will doubt. Glen M. Congdon of Gowanda was unanimously deeded first vice president. By a resolution pre- viously adopted each courtly named its own second vice president, and so O. R. Sackett of Niagara Falls was selected to represent Niagara county; Burt Hudson of Albion for Orleans; Joseph Sahenmnker of Buffalo for Erie; J. Peter Brueck of Gowanda for Chautauqua; M. Slaw- siJn of Spencerport for Monroe, and H. E. Gillen of Batavia for Genesee county. For treasurer, George F. Thompson of Middleport was re- elected \Kithoat epposttiorn \*\\\\\ A spirited contest ovpr the elec- tion of Seciretary resulted in the choice of Charles F. Foley of Lock- port. The other candidate was C. F. Christ of Tonawanda, who was defeated by Mr. Foley by a narrow majority. After the convention adjourned the delegates were escorted to Oak Orchard Park to witness the ball game and were afterwards entered by the local firemen. WANTED:\ 50 MEN AND WOMEN. PERSONALS.
