Woman's Home and foreign Mission- ary Society Meeting. The Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary Society of the Niagara Presbytery met in the North Presby- terian Church, North Tonawanda, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. There was a large attend- ance in spite of the inclement weather. At Tuesday evening's meeting Rev. Panl Bergen, of the Shantung Mission, China, delivered a fine address, and Mrs. H. F. Ellin- wood, of this place, rendered enjoy- able vocal selections. The next meeting will be held in the Second Presbyterian Church, Lockport. The following Medina ladies were in attendance: Mrs. French, presi- dent of the local society; Mrs. JEL F. Ellinwood, Secretary Presbyterial Society;- Mrs. Watson F. Considerable discussion was held in regard to ways and means to ea- forco the game laws, and much in- terest and enthusiasm along this line were manifested. Some of those present told of harrowing tales in \regard to the wholesale slaughter of fish and ganu> in these parts which should bring the blush d; shame to the people of the State. It is pretty near time that the laws were enforced if they are ever going to be, and Ma club wiH do its share along with the other organizations and authorities to bring the game pirates to justice. Congratulatory greetings were received from, the Niagara County Angleni* Club. From the fact that the latter had BO much to do with the institution of the local organiza- tion it is by no means improbable that a joint outing of tho two clubs may bo held, although it is under- stood that tho Niagara anglers had practicafly arranged their events for the coming summer before the Orleans sportsmen were banded to- gether. The JOURNAL will continue to give full reports of the doings of the club. It is expected that a per- manent meeting place will soon he secured and that there will be ample accommodations for all.
