S&H Grgen Stamps Bane Is Winner LYNDONVILLE - George Bane, Republican, incumbent supervisor who was named by the Town Board following the resignation of Everett Johnson, Democrat, several weeks ago, following the designation of Johnson to the post of county highway superintendent, won easily over his Democratic op- ponent, Angelo Ricci, in yesterday's election. Bane polled a total of 708 votes in the two townships to 249 cast for Ricci. In District No. 1 Bane had 336 votes to Ricci's 115 and in District 2 Bane polled 372 to 134 cast for Ricci. This marks the first time in nearly a decade that the town has been represented on the county board of supervisors by a Republican as Johnson was elected supervisor in 1963 and has served continuously since Jan. 1, 1964 as supervisor. Bane, who has been an in- dependent contractor for the greater part of his life is em- ployed by Crosby-Whipple Oil Corp. and has been in Medina at their Maple Ridge station. Beyer, Medina Native, Dies in Ohio SERVICES were held in St. Peter's Episcopal Church in ' Akron, Ohio on Monday, Novem- ber 6th for James E. Beyer, 84, of 318 N. Firestone Blvd. in tha city. Mr. Beyer was one of the original members of this congre- gation. Burial was in Rose hil Cemetery. , Mr. Beyer, a native of Medina, was born Oct. 25, 1888 in the home on Park Ave. where his mother, Mary Greasart Beyer had spent practically all her life and which had been built in 1862 by her maternal grandfather, George R. B. S. Town, one of Medina's earliest settlers. Mr. Beyer was a graduate of Colgate University and a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, also of Coventry Lodge 665 F&A Ma- sons, Firestone Country Club, American Chemical Society and St. Peter's Episcopal Church and its vestry. He leaves his wife, Ethel; daughters, Mrs. G, Ione Friess, Akron, Mrs. Elizabeth Lord, Carrollton, Ohio and Mrs. Mar- garet Sollenberger of Grand Ra- pids, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Ione Mann of Rochester, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren and one great- grandchild. I'M/HUI! ~ Dies, Teacher At Oak Orchard Miss Patricia A. Rankin, 42, of the North Towne Apartments, died suddenly Tuesday while at work at the Oak Orchard Elementary School. Acting Supt. of Schools Thomas Schirmer today called the sudden death of Miss Rankin \a tragic loss of a highly respected and dedicated teacher who was very good with children alga a valuable member of our s .” Miss Rankin collapsed around 3:2 yesterday afternoon in her fifth grade room at Oak Orchard School, just after dismissal of students, and while she was in an informal conference with the school's principal, Philip Distefano. He had brought her news that she would be recommended for tenure at this year's end. Miss Rankin complained of feeling faint and collapsed, it was reported. Firemen were com- mended for quick response, by school officials, and Dr. Con- ception Singson and an inhalation team from Medina Memorial Hospital arrived. Revival work continued for an hour without success. Miss Rankin graduated from MHS in 1948, first taught a year at Akron Central, then from Sept. 1953 to 1969 in first grade in Medina, starting at Ensign. After the death of her mother she taught one year at Canandaigua, then returned here. She has been in her 19th year with the local school district. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Aug. 21, 1930, her parents were the late John and Olive Caple Rankin. She was a graduate of Brock- port State Teachers College, Brockport and had taught in the Medina Schools all but one year in Canandaigua, N.Y. She is survived by one aunt, Mrs. Charles (Theodora) Moore of Canandaigua and several cousins. There will be no calling hours and a private funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl it, with burial in the Memorials may be nade in her name of the donors choice. Born in Slaciterew, Holland, March 29, 1896, she came to the Albion area in 1922 from Holland and had lived in Orleans County since. She was a member of the Barre Grange. He was an associate member of Royalton Baptist Church and retired 14 years ago from Harrison Radiator Division of GMC, Lockport, where he had worked for 37 years. Survivors include his widow, Ada J.
