LOCAL' MERCANTS WANT YOUR BUSINESS— ^ AND THEY SHOULD RECEIVE IT Again the merchants of the village of Lowville have , shown that they \want the business of the people of this area. In a meeting of the Lowville Merchants Association last week, they voted to conduct the popular Christmas - Shopping Bonus Plan again this year. This plan, as most everything else, costs money. They are investing in this plan to try to urge the people of their community to stay at Jiome to do their Christmas shopping. -Certainly, they should expect the loyalty and patronage of their neighbors and fellow townspeople. Last Spring the Merchants Association conducted the Shopping Habit Survey to find out what the people of the area wanted in their stores, what they disliked about the salespeople, the service and the stock. They went out of their way to seek criticism for the simple reason that they wanted to give the people \what they wanted. We have some lovely stores in the village, they carry fine goods, the stores are clean, the prices lower or the same than other towns, the selection is wider than most small towns and the service is friendly and sincere. Let us make our slogan this year as we plan our Christmas shopping, ''Try s Lowville Rrst!\ , If local stores do not carry what you are looking for, then they probably would be first to suggest that you go to a city to find it. But first, try Lowville merchants. You'11 1 probably be surprised to find something for every- one on your list this year, right here in Lowville. Again, when you are tempted to take advantage of some great \bargain\ that is offered by a strange firm, or itinerant peddler, remember that you have no come- back if you aren't satisfied, remember that you have no guarantee and remember that you most likely can have the same job, done better, and as inexpensively, by your local merchants. Your local businessmen, remember, pay taxes here, have their future invested here and have to see you every day, so your satisfaction is assured. Try Lowville First. Your local merchant earns and deserves your business.
