Shaver, supervisor for _ the Town of Watson, was elected president of the association of towns of the State of New York at the annual meeting al the Hotel Hilton, New York City, that con cluded Feb. 9. Mr. Shaver served as vice p re sident tn 1911 and will take the new office May 1. Mr. Shaver, a retired state police officer and former chair man of the county board of sup ervisors, served as president of the Supervisors and Legislators , Association of the State of New York In 1968 and was named '^Supervisor of the Year.” He is director of the Adiron dack Park Association and a past exalted ruler of Lowville Elks Lodge 1605. Attending the New York s e s sion, in addition to Mr. and Mrs. Shaver were: Mrs. Dorothy Ko tel, clerk of tbe board of legislators; Mtlton Flint; Henry O. Schaab, town of Lowville Jus tice. and Mrs. Schaab; Irving Kraeger; legislator, and Mrs. Kraeger; Edwin Kozlowskl, town of West Turin Justice, anti Mrs. Kczlcski; Lawrence Malbeauf, supervisor town of Dtana; Cary Buckingham, legislator, and Mrs. Buckingham; Sam Lundy, H arrls- vllle, and Albert G. Lawrence, LowviUe. J. Boardman, 76, Boonville John Boaraman, 76, Boonville RJD. 3, died Feb. 10 ln St. Eli zabeth’s Hospital, Otica. Born ln Boonvllle Aug. 5, 1895, a son of Philip and Phebie Dil- lenheck Boardman, h e later lived pi Otter Lake and was employed by R.G. Norton as a woodsman. He returned to the Boonville sec tion and built a camp on the F u r man Road where be and his brothers Uved for years and he worked as a trapper and guide In that sector. He bad made his home at the residence of Mrs. Gladys Platt, Potato Hill Road, since 1970. Re Is survived by a brother, Garry Boardman, Port Leyden; a sister, Mrs. Alvlra McDonald, Boonvllle; nieces and nephews. He never married. The funeral was Feb. IS at tbe Tratnor Funeral Home, Rev, Roiio D. Pierce, pastor of the BoonvUle Methodist Church, offi ciating. Burial will be tn the Brooks Cenetery. Snowmobile Driver Hurt Bernard L. Rook, LowvUle FLD., was Injured at 12:30 a .m ., Feb. 10 ln a snowmobile accident on the Anthony Matuszczak farm. Town, of Martinsburg, a half mile west of the West Road. He was taken to Lewis County General Hospital with multiple la cerations of the right side, the face and arm s.
