18 Adirondack Mountain Sun Thursday, Dec. 31,1992 Home Fires By Ramona A. Salmon Two South Lewis Guys We all know that women are handy and, on occasion, use their husband's tools. Even those women who are not so inclined to build a shelf or fix a chair have, at onetime or another, helped their hubbies when a job calls for more then two hands. I found something in my stocking Christmas morning and I believe that a certain person (not Santa) is trying to get across the male perspective on a particular topic. The topic being: TOOLS AND A WOMAN'S DEFINITION OF WHAT THEY ARE: HAMMER - Anything heavy enough to drive a nail SQUARE - Someone who is not hip BIT - A little something BIT BRACE - Something to hold a little something CATS PAW - A hotel in Brantingham GEAR - Camping stuff CIRCULAR SAW - A saw for cutting holes WIRE NUT - Someone who collects wire PINION - Your thoughts on a subject •NAIL SET - Ten Lee Press-On Nails MORTISE & TENON - A comedy team of the, 50's Jt , CRESCENT WRENCH - Or any tool with the word \wrench\ on the end is, of course, a pair of pliers. There's a real wise \guy\ in my house since everyone else (including the cats) are female, we all know exactly who the wise guy isi!! , I have given this matter a good deal of thought and have one statement to make on behalf of all the women in the world. When something needs fixing we can fix it too. Except we hold it with a whosamajigger, tighten it with a dohicky and put it all back together with a watchamacallit! Hey if it works, what's in a name? More Than a Motel The Brantingham Inn & Motel Phone: 34&-8125 * Breakfast & Lunch Daily * Rooms & Efficiencies * Friendly Tavern * Fitness Center * Racquetball Court By Mary Lynn Fager The outcome of the match came down to the two heavyweights, two wrestlers who were very different from each other. Rob Domagala weighed 192 pounds. His opponent weighed 260. Rob was wrestling in his first match in six years. His opponent wrestled for a team with 76 consecutive wins in dual meets. They were looking forward to their 77th. In the end, Rob overcame his intimidation and pinned his opponent in the second period to claim the victory for his team at Trinity Pawling. * Rob decided to leave Glenfield and South Lewis to spend his senior year at Trinity Pawling, a private boys' school outside of New York City, at the recommendation of his high school football coach at South Lewis. \Mr. McCauley wanted me to go because he's seen what happens to a lot of the kids who stay around here. He thinks I'm a leader and he wants to see me do something for myself. He thinks l can go places,\ Rob said. Next year Rob is hoping to attend Ithaca College, Cortland State, or St. Lawrence University to study physical education. He'd like to be a high' school gym teacher. '. ' John Paul Pfeiffer lives in the dorm room next door to-Rob. John is - spending a post-graduate year at Trinity Pawling, also at Coach ftfcCauley^ recommendation. \Mr. McCauley has' helped me more than anybody in pushing me and WESTCHESTER COUNTY GUYS - Rob Domagala (1) and John Paul Pfeiffer are making their marks at Trinity Pawling this year. Rob was Defensive Player of the Year during the football season and John was Offensive Player of the Year. <f-TAEKWONOO SEIF DEFENSE Gift Certificate* Available mmJEh 76B6S. STATE ST.
