Mr. Fleming was born in Macornb but spent most of his life in the Town of Rossie. He was employed at Gouverneur Talc in Balmat until his health failed. He married Eleanor Harris of New Connecti- cut Road, Rossie and raised a family of seven children. She died several years ago. Burial was in Oxbow cemetery. Ed was a good father and friend to all. We will miss seeing him come down Sand Hill, driving verv carefully in his famil- iar van. We extend our sympathy to his families and friends. Truman and Jane Salis- bury of Cambridge, Md. arrived at the George Knight home Oct. 11 and stayed through Sunday, Oct. 14. They spent Oct. 14 overnight with Jane's brother, Gerald Butler, and wife in Marcellus, the continued home from there. -A get-together was held Saturday, Oct. 13 at the George Knight home. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Youngs called on Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Youngs Wednesday evening. Dorothy and Ronnie Foote of Clinton spent the weekend attheirvacation home on the River Road. Mr. Foote will celebrate his 89th birthday next week. We send our best wishes. Mrs. Foote called on Julia and carol Stephenson Sunday. Sunday callers in the Youngs home were Mr. and Mrs. Bud Youngs and granddaughter Megan Weatherup of Richville. Among the many friends and relatives who at- tended the wedding of Lonna Reynolds, and Lowell Davis, both of Richville, were all but two of Lonna's aunts and uncles. The wedding was held in the Richville United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Oct. 20, with the re- ception in the VFW. The bride is the daugh- ter of Carol Reynolds and the late Wallace Reynolds. Among those from the Rossie vicinity attending were the ClifTord Youngs, the Lynn Youngs and the Leo Rastley families. The late Wallace Rey- nolds lived his youth in the Rossie - Scotch Settle- ment vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Marcellus have a new great-granddaughter. A daughter, Sam ant ha Angel, was born Oct. 2 in Hesperia, Calif, weighing nine pounds, one ounce to their granddaughter, Amy Marcellus. Visitors in the Milton Marcellus home Wednes- day and Thursday were Jenny Ryder and son David Michael. Jenny has just returned from a visit with her California rela- tives. She got lonesome for New York. Mrs. Milton Marcellus attended a birthday party for one-year-old Julian at the home of his mother, Irene Richards, near Brier Hill, Sunday. The Rossie patients of Dr. Joseph Brandy of Ogdensburg were shocked and saddened to learn of his untimely death and that of his wife and son. His patients were partial to him and we will miss his concern, kindness and good care. Andy Knight, six- month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Knight, is ill with pneumonia in the House of the Good Samaritan. He is slowly improving. The funeral of Hattie Tibbies was held Wednes- day in Alexandria Bay. She was the aunt of Kevin Davis of the Butler Road. The family attended the services. Mrs. Jean Manning and Mrs. George Knight at- tended the wedding of Jean's granddaughter Saturday, Oct. 27. The bride is Hope Manning, daughter of Mrs. Shirley Bowen of West Potsdam and Charles Manning of Warwick, R.I. The bride- groom is Gerald Stiles. The reception was held at the Waddington Ameri- can Legion Hall. *^ Roberta Evans, RN, of West Chazy came Wednes- day u) help her father, William Evans, celebrate his 87th birthday in ad- vance. Jane left that night on an excursion bus to Atlantic City where she planned to spend the weekend. Visitors in the Frances Gardner home Friday, Oct. 19 were Jane Wolfe of Hammond and her two daughters, Dorothy Wag- ner of Leroy, N.Y. and Wanda Wolfe, and three children, Megan, Eliza- beth and Billy Davis of Brockeway, Pa. Dorothy is an agent for Warsaw Insurance Co. and Wanda is residential manager for United Cerebral Palsy in Brockport. She was accom- panied by her fiance, John Beningo, of Pennsylvania. They came to watch their sister, Dodie, play in the last hockey game of the season Friday evening. Electia Burns van, formerly of Antwefrp, died Oct. 13 at the agedf 95 in Toronto, Canada. She was born in Rossie, the daughter of Garritt and Margaret Delany Burns. } o'i She was a sister of thfe late Margaret Burafc Gardner, wife of ErnMt Gardner of Rossie and of the late Fenton Burns, gf Clayton.
