The public is welcome. Businessmen Fellowship Dinner Planned Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship International will hold a dinner on Friday, Jan. 26 at 6:45 p.m. at the Clearview Restaurant. Canton College of Technology Spring REAP Series Planned An upcoming training course on the acceptable applications of wood frame construction within the guidelines of New York State's Uniform Fire Pre- vention and BuildingCode may benefit north country code enforcement and municipal officials. The course will be pre- sented at two area loca- tions: Tuesday and Wednesday, March 27-28 in Canton; and Thursday and Friday, March 29-30 in Watertown. Class size is limited to a maximum of 30 participants. The course will focus on permitted uses of type 5, wood frame building clas- sifications and aspects of space and fire safety. Ac- cording to Codes Division spokesmen, this course is more advanced than the basic courses that will be offered later this year. Flu Immunization Clinics The St. Lawrence County Public Health Nursing Service, as part of its Preventative Health Care Program, will offer flu immunizations to all persons over the age of 55. Persons under 55 with a chronic medical problem (such as diabetes, heart, lung or kidney disease) may receive the vaccine with a written order from their physician. Persons with known allergies to eggs, chicken, chicken feathers or chicken dander should receive the vaccine from their physician. A donation of $3 will be accepted to help defray the cost of the vaccine. Clinics are scheduled as follows: Gouverneur Nursing Home, 1 -4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10. Parking Ban Residents of the Village of Gouverneur are re- minded that parking is prohibited on village streets from 2-6 p.m., Nov. 15 through April 15. Residents are urged to comply with this local law to help the village facilitate its snow removal operations. Viola- tors of this parking ban will be ticketed. The ban also applies to parking between the sidewalk and the curb. Veteran's Counselor Visits Office hours for the Veteran's Counselor in Gou- verneur are from noon to 2 p.m., the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, at the American Legion home on Main Street. In the event that not everyone has been served by 2 p.m., the counselor will stay until all are served. GHS Board of Education Meetings The Gouverneur Central School District Board of Education meets on the fourth Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the junior-senior cafeteria in the high school building, unless otherwise noted. All such meetings are open to the public. The board has also designated the second Monday of the month as its working committee meetings nights, to be used as needed. Triple vaccine (diptheria-tetanus-whoop ing cough), Sabin oral polio vaccine, measles, mumps, and ru- bella vaccine and Hib vaccine (for meningitis) will be given. Parents should bring records of their chil- dren's previous immunizations to the clinic.
