Her many friends, and relatives would like to see her well enough to be out soon at least to spend Christmas at home. We all miss you Mabel. Rev. and Mrs Edward Simmons filled the vacancy Sunday, Nov. 25, while the pastor was away. The newly organized Missionette Group of Ed- wards Assembly met Saturday. Nov. 24 in the Fine Town Hall. American 1 ^gion Auxiliary Unit 798 Philadelphia met for its November meeting at the U'gion rooms with Betty Hull presiding Routine business was discussed and committee reports wore given Two hundred dollars was sent to the Veteran's Hospital Gift Shop in Syracuse Every Unit sends gifts to the Veteran Hospital Gift Shops at Christmas time for the hospitalized Veterans to choose gifts for their families Members from the units go to the Gift shops and help the Veterans choose gifts, and wrap and see they are mailed or delivered in some way It is expected that two carloads of members from Philadelphia Unit will go this year to help in this work The next meeting, Dec. 10, will be the Christmas Party beginning with a covered dish dinner at 7 p.m followed by a Christmas party with ex- change of gifts and a social evening. Mrs. Leone Putman has returned to her own home after spending the past year in hospitals and at the homes of her daughters. Her granddaughter and family are staying with her. Mrs. Pauline Vars has been accompaning the New York State American Legion Auxiliary, Mrs. Mary Smack, Binghamton, on her tour of the fifth District, which in- cludes, Onondaga, Oneida, Lewis, Herkimer and Jef- ferson Counties.
