Pamela Rae Bates, daughter of Mr and Mrs Durwood Bates was baptised Aug. 20 in Saint James Church with Father Hawkins Alan Kelsey is recuperating at home from a broken collar bone after a motorcycle accident Tuesday Aug. 15. Mrs Francis Boney, Maria aod Wendy Corbine were luncheon guests of Mrs James Fuller and daughters, Fowler, Aug. 17. Mr. and Mrs. James Fuller and daughters were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Boney and the Corbine girls Aug 17 and viewed home movies of the Boney's recent vacation. ^ Mrs. Mildred Edwards ac- companied Mrs. Francis Boney to Potsdam Aug. 17 when she returned the Corbine girls to their home after their vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Boney. Mrs. Virgil Taylor and son Ricky of Roxbury and Mrs Taylor's son Ron and his two sons, Ronnie and Rodney of Ellenville were guests of her sister, Mrs. Earl Kelsey and family Saturday afternoon Aug. 19. TOURING THE NEW ENGLAND AREA, this bus load of visitors from Illinois, Indiana and Missouri visited International Talc Milton Aug. 22. Forty-three interested mid-westerners, with guide, Mrs. Roberta Tocks, Carlinville, III. Viewed the mill operation. Under the auspices of Presley Tours, Inc. 18 tour groups will have traveled through the Gouverneur and mining area by mid-October. People who go camping are nature lovers. But ironically, they may be harming nature by inadvertently harboring deadly gypey moths in their vehicles and equipment. The US Department of Agriculture asks campers to look for and destroy gypsy moths, egg masses, and caterpillars in their camping gear before leaving the Northeast. By MARGUERITE BEACH Mr. and Mrs. Richard Murphy are the parents of a daughter, Anne Elliott, born Aug. 19th at Mercy Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Murphy have three other children, James, Mary Margaret, and Timothy. Mary Swenson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Swenson, celebrated her 18th birthday Aug. 22 Twelve guests, relatives and friends enjoyed a cook-out to celebrate the occasion. Mary received many nice gifts and a lovely birthday cake. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Vars spent two days in Chicago, 111. at the National Legion Convention, where Mr Vars marched in the Legion parade with the New York State Delegation. The parade lasted for about seven hours and was very spectacular, however probably some didn't march the whole route. Oliver Metcalf of Cape Vincent, and Alan Murray of Carthage were also at the convention. Lisa LaLonde, three year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph LaLonde has been a patient in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, for observation and tests. Rev. The Senior Citizens Club will meet Thursday, Sept 7 at the Legion rooms with a covered dish supper at 6:30 p.m. followed by a meeting. It ha*, been learned that Mrs. June Anderson had an auto ac- cident near Plattsburgh. No bones were broken, but her back was sprained. She is now with her daughter.
