Knowing therefore the in- fl tie nee of this mighty lever, it is fitting that the sanctum should | carefully weigh its utterances. With this issue we enter upon our journalistic.labors. We kio not expect to change present conditions much, yet we shall do all we can to promote the best i n terests of ou r i o\vii. Massena has some great in- terests to be encouraged, also fine possibilities to be developed. Na- ture has been lavish with -us. Nor has man been backward in improving many of these natural resources. Most important among the.se industries, is agrrrculttire. Broad -fields of rich and fertile soil lie all about us, while the gen- eral independence and thrift of our farmers attest the- generosity >f our natural gifts. Then too our dairying in- dustries rank high. During the last few years there has been a very marked improvement in the methods of manufacturing but- ter and cheese, as well as in secur-i ing blooded cattle in the place of the old 'scrub' stock. But we must not pass on without mentioning our famous medicinal Spring, 7; iWhieh are steadily increasing in popularity. Already nien of wealth and enter- prise are turning their attention hither, and \ye do not doubt but that er'e long Massena Springs will be among the most visited Tesorts in the country.
