Mrs. Matilda Brown passed away last week Friday morning] October 13th, at twenty minutes o'clock, at the home of her of eight daughter, Mrs. Wallace Haskell, from where the funeral was held Sunday afternoon, Rev. Percy B. Robinson officiating. Mrs. Brown was 73 years a ad seven months of age. She returned from Santa Clara a short time age and had been in poor health ever since. A shocking murder was committed at Saranac Inn Monday afternoon when Herbert Miller shot and instantly killed his wife, literally blowing hei head off. Miller had been drinking and had had an altercation with his wife over some trivial matter.
