Otho is 'one of the regular pitchers on this team. The Republican county convention 'has been Called* to meet at Malone Tuesday, June 27th, at two o'clock p. m, Saturday, the 24th > at two o'clock p. nu is the time of haiding the caucuses in the severaj towns of the county to elect three delegates to attend the county convention. The memorial services at the Christ- ian church Sunday morning were 1 largely attended and the Grand Army Post and W. B, C. were represented by fairly large delegations of members. Key. Percy B. Robinson preached a very able'sermon appropriate to the day and the- music rendered by the choir wag also in keeping with the day. The church was tastily decorated with flags. flowers and plants. ' \ Decoration Day Decoration Day passed 'off: in Brush- ton according to the programme pub- lished last week*, the day was beaUtifiil, the rain the night before making every thing look bright anil pleasajjt. The morning was devoted to the clecoratiug of the graves in the various cemeteries by the veterans and the school children. At noon the W. 33* C. served a fine dinner to all the old'soldierf and their fatmlies. The exercises at 'the Qxxinn opera house in. the afternoon were excellent, the address of Hoa. C. S. Plauk was potriotio and he painted word pictures of scenes In COB- with the lives of the soldiers in the time of war that were touching and brought tears to more than on© eye. -Mrs. Peter Quinn visited friends in Canada this week. The Boys 1 Athletic Club base ball team went to Moira last Saturday after- noon and defeated the Moira Stars, 'Jr. in a close game, score; 8 to ,7. It js expected that these two teams will play here this afternoon. Clem MeOulloughywho has been con- ducting a drug store at Dobbs Ferry has disposed of his * business there and arrived in Brushton Monday morningto visit his people here. His cousin, Miss Theresa Winnie, of Saratoga, accom- panied him and will remain in Brush- ton this summer. » Nick McGregor ? a former barber of this place who has been working in the Adirondacks for the last two years on account of ill healthy was in town Mon- daxfiling on old,friends, he was on his way to join his family in the west,* having quite recovered his health. Shall Brushton Celebrate the Fourth? It has been suggested by some \of the citizens of this place that Brush ton have a big Fourth of i July celebration this year and that the Citizens' Hand of .Brushton with a committee of L other citizens have charge of the celebration. This village has not had a celebration of this day for over twenty years and it is the opinion of many that the village should show the patriotism of its citizens on the anniversary of the natal day of .the Nation\ onee again* The Band asks that all interested in a Fourth of July celebration: in Brushton this year to meet at the baud room next Monday evening, June 5th, to talk the matter over and if it is decided to have a cele- bration to make,all arrangements pos- sible that night., Want Column.
