Surviving besides her husband are three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Shriner, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. v Mr. and Mrs. Stanley C Viek- ers of Back Point Road N an- nounce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Carol Viekers, to David Hovland of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Mr. Hovland is the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Carl I Hovland of Hamden, Connecticut. An August wedding is plan- ned. Miss Viekers, a graduate of Ticondeioga High School, is a senior at Wellesley College. She is enrolled in the Harvard Grad- uate \ School of Education next year. Mr. Hovland is an alumnus of the Choate School, and of Yale, 1962. He is presently at- tending Harvard Law School. His father was Sterling Professor of Psychology at Yale.
