Worker Early Sunday Morning At Resort EI1IZABETHTOWN — Among 10 indictments reported in Supreme Court here yesterday afternoon by the grand jury was a true bill against two men charged with kid- naping. John Adam Bazan of Glovers- ville and William Herbert Reding of Johnstown were charged with kidnaping Therese Estelle Hachey and .they were further charged with first degree robbery, second degree grand larceny and third de- gree, assault, allegedly committed at Lake Placid March 21. The two men are accused of kid- naping the woman when she step- ped from the bar of the Hotel Marcy into a hallway. She told police the two men seized her and drove her south to Schroon Lake. •The men were stopped by a State Trooper who gave Reding a ticket for speeding, authorities said. They were taken to the. Mos- es Ludington Hospital in the am- bulance of the Ticonderoga Emer- gency Squad. Mrs. Dorothy Smith Rogers, 49, of New York City, is suffering from severe shock, a possible skull fracture and multiple lacerations to the head and body. She was uncon- scious when she was brought to the hospital and had not regained consciousness yesterday, hospital authorities said. Her condition was said to be \slightly improved but critical\ 16 indictments had been return- ed against the former county at- torney by the Essex County grand jury He had pleaded guilty on March 20 to the tost two counts of—each indictment except in one to which he pleaded guilty to one count. The village board countered with, an offer of $500 for the season, but^ no reference was made to the otfcj er requests made by Mr. Atchin- son. This offer w a s refused and no\ ; action has been taken on the mat-?: ter since that time, although m a n y local residents have become cortr- cerned over the prospect of .nofcj having a safe bathing beach avail* able this year. Since Mr. Atchinson's orightal! offer, the new road to Tirogaf Point has been accepted for mains tenance by the Towns of Ticonder- oga and Putnam. Thus, it is be^;] lieved, the only portion of a road- to be maintained by the village?; under a rental agreement would be.| that small part of the \old\ road' leading to the beach and a \circle^: which connects with the n e w road, providing a convenient entrance, or exit without traffic congestion* Mr. Atchinson has pointed out that he has made substantial im- provements at the beach by re- moving the old road which follow- ed the shore line and through grading and filling and taking out the wall which bordered the beach. The rental fee last year was $350. John Other indictments returned yes- terday were: Lester Oliver Larmofe and Charles Edward Graham, indicted for unlawfully entering a building and petit larceny, allegedly com- mitted in the Town of \Crown Point May 6. Donald Phillips, indicted for reckless driving and violation of Sec. 88, Para. 6, of Vehicle and Traffic Law, allegedly committed in the Town of Minerva Nov. 20, 1953. ,_justice Aulisi imposed sentence of 1% to 3 years on each of the 16 indictments but he ordered the terms to run concurrently Brewster w a s arrested last Dec. 24 and he was indicted on March 5 On March 26 a psychiatric ex- amination of Brewster was order- ed by Justice Aulisi at St Law- rence State Hospital at Ogdensburg a n d t h e report of the examination was^that he was sane and responsi- ble for his acts. His condition yesterday was described as ^improved.\ The accident happened at 4:15 p. m., it is reported, on a curve near the bottom of Tongue Moun- tain on the north side as the car, operated <by Mrs. Rogers who. is Mr. Pabst's secretary, was pro- ceeding north. The auto strucljf-the shoulder of the highway and over- turned end-on-end, according to reports. The car, a 1947 sedan, was virtually demolished.
