Business Girls Have No Time for' Hair-Do LONDON.—The business girls of Britain are being hard put to it to find tim e to visit their hairdressers. With the new short working hours, enabling them to get home before the nightly “blitz” starts, thousands of them are unable to get time off to visit their hairdresser. Nevertheless, taking an early- morning look round the rush-hour crov/ds„ and considering that most of the girls have spent the night in shelters, the curls peeping from those popular scarf-turbans are just as glossy and well-groomed as ever. For some, it depends on getting an appointment with their local hair dresser on a Saturday afternoon, but this is not always possible, suburban hairdressers finding themselves booked up wee-rs ahead with 100 per cent more business. City of London hairdressers are coming to the aid of these “dam sels in distress” by. starting busi ness at 8:30 in the morning; girls in nearby offices get up even earlier to have a shampoo and set before office hours. Girls in the A. R, P. services, however, are luckier. Working 48 hours on with 24 hours off, they have ample time to go to the hair dressers on a week-day.
