Haywood Miller and Edward La- Croix had business in Randolph re cently. Prank Bennett of Salamanca was a business caller in town Friday. Celestine Carr was in Franklin- ville Saturday to attend the Y. P. M. S. Institute. Martin Mercer went to Bulfalo last Tuesday and returned Friday. Those from here who went to Fredonia to take part in the Music Festival were DePorest Matteson, Jr., Mary Louise Matteson, Isabel Remington, Lorraine Remington and Greoi'gann Boyer. Bible study was held a t Mrs. Vern Arnold’s home Thursday evening. The book of Ezekiel w’^as studied. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rebman of North Collins visited Mr. and Mrs. James Cargill, Sr., Sunday. Arthur Curtis, who teaches in Bay State, spent the week-end at his home near Great Valley. Mr. and Mrs. Haywiood Miller were in Randolph recently. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Frink vis ited their son in Buffalo last, week. They brought the grandchildren back with them. Their parents came after them Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Prevorce and daughter and Mrs. William Rholan visited Mr. Rholan at Rocky Crest Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Carr were in Buffalo Friday. ■ June Boyer was taken seriously ill Thursday night and Friday noon she was taken to the Jamestown Hos pital. The diagnosis showed she was suffering from spinal meningitis. Mrs. Howard Boyer and Gerald ac companied her to the hospital; also Mr. and Mrs. Addison Abbey of Brocton. Mrs. Howard Boyer and Gerald were here Monday and report ed her condition as improved. Joseph Sluga was in Jamestown recently. Mrs. Frances 'Garley was in Sala manca recently. Mrs. John Wellenhoffer, Miss Chrystole Miller of Salamanca, and Ivan Goundrey of Monterey visit ed Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Carr Satur- Mr. and Mrs. John Ostrander, Jr., of Gerry were callers of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Ostrander Sunday. Robert Carr attended the father and sem banquet with Noel Mac Donald at the Palace Restaurant, Salamanca, last week Wednesday. Thomas King and son Gerald of Johnsonburg called on Mrs. Bertha Carr Sunday. Isabelle Carr will leave Ches- brough Seminary Friday afternoon to spend her Easter vacation trav eling with the Chesbrough a Cap- pela chorus. Some of the places at which they will sing are Wilkes- Barre, Pa,, Baltimore, Md., Wash ington, D. C., and Newark, N. J. Mrs. Bertha Carr accompanied Mrs. Leon Carr to Little Valley. Two guests were present. Bridge was enjoyed and the prizes were won by Mrs. W.^ A. Wolfe and Mrs. Paul Ditmer. A delicious tur een lunch was served. The next meeting will be held with Mrs. F. G. Winship. w . s. o. s. The Woman’s Society of Christian Service met at the home of Mrs. G. A. Gleichman on Thursday afternoon. The program was in charge of Mrs. L, H. Nopper and Mrs. J. Rice. He, .too, gave answer, “This is my Beloved Son.” Novice Club The Novice Bridge Club met with Mrs. R. E. Hale Friday afternoon. Mrs. W. A. Wolfe was a guest. The prizes went to 'Mrs. Cora Peavy and Mrs. C. McDonald. The next meeting will be on April 10th with Mrs. L. L. Mann. Scout Items A review of events for the rally wa& held^ during the first part of the meeting on Monday evening. The Scout Rally will be held at Salamanca April 1st. Paper collecting was discussed for this coming Saturday. Banquet W ell Attended About eighty-five attended the banquet given by the Business As sociation in honor of the high school basket ball teams, cheer leaders and coach, held Friday evening at the high school. The delicious dinner was served by the Rebekah’s. The alma mater was led by the cheer leaders and the singing was led by Miss Adilene \Woodmansee W. R. Baris was toast master. A short talk was given by W. A. Nelson, manager of our bi county champion team. Linen Shower Mrs. Grover Eldred entertained at a linen shower in honor Of her daughter, Miss Margaret Eldred oh Saturday afternoon. Twelve guests iwere present. Mrs. D. B. Fessenden of Fredonia was an out of town guest. Delicious refreshments were served and the honor guest received many lovely gifts. Club Party Wednesday Evening An informal party was given Wed nesday evening in honor of Dr. N. H. Frank, who has been called for ac tive duty as captain in the Medical Reserve.
