One of the items connected with a mar. riage about to be celebrated in aristootatio drolesis a magnificent wedding cake, of which the following is a brW deeertption: The cake oonsists of three tiers, surmounted by a castle, made an exact architectural copy of the bride's home. The stand, owing to the size of the cake, is mad« of wood and glided, no gold or silver stand in %e trade being available-. The' whole ictuxe measures five feet high and,weigh* hundred-weight. The stand is Jfliree feet four Inchee in diameter and nine inohes In height. The first tier of the cake I* two and a half across and ten inohes high, decorated with eight arabesque, ornamental oolumns, each surmounted by a small vase aiding orange blossoms and maiden-hair Between the oolumns hang eight lertoons. The top of the tier is ornate with iligree piping. The second tier measures one foot eleven (nohes in diameter and eight and a half Inches high. Four panels adom thi* tier, of which contain the coats-of-arms of bride and bridegroom respectively, painted on white silk, in true heraldic colors, eaoh surrounded by pearls and ferns, lie two other panels exhibit the monograms of the pair, also on silk and colored in har- mony with the ooate-of-arms, out sftrrormcU od by wreaths of orange blossoms and maid- -hair ferns. Between the panels hang ir pretty gypny baskets, full of stephanotia, orange blossoms, green ferns and silver loaves. Between eaoh basket and panel bangs a oomuoopia, with orchids, eto. Orer each panel is a pair of flying doves and a dove alto is placed between eaoh basket •nd eoraveopla. Standing on the top of th* Her are eight (rapid*, each tiling out qf a louquet of orango blossoms and holding over his shoulder a stephauotfs, oat of which is flowing a stream of water, repre- sented her* by spun glass.
