Spencer - Kelly Bowlers Start Season Oct. 29 Legionnaires Meet Yonkers Post 7 At Lyceum In League O pener Spencer-Kelly Post bowlers of the Tarrytowns s tart their quest of the County Legion League champion ship Thursday night, Oct. 29, roll ing Yonkers Post 7 at the Lyceum alleys, their home lanes during the 3eason. Decision to conduct the league under \A. B. C.” rules has resulted in the withdrawal of two team s from the competition, leaving eight clubs, two less than last year—in the running. A11 posts entering the league must have their alleys inspected and measured in addition to putting up the $15 league entry fee and an additional $2 for the \A. B. C.\ entry. Ossining Legion is hard hit by the fact the league has been sanc tioned and has been forced to withdraw. The legion alleys are said to be among the worst in the county and are also short of the regulation requirement. Scarsdale is the other post dropping out. The eight team s in the competi tion will be Spencer-Kelly, Yon kers No. 7, Cook Post of Yonkers, New Rochelle, Fort Chester, Union Post of Hawthorne, Fancher-Nicoll Post of Pleasantville and Moses- Taylor Post of Mount Kisco. With the exception of Spenceh- Kelly, all matches will be bowled Friday nights, the local post bowl ing Thursdays. Gerald FitzGerald, captain of the team , will have the following vet erans to call on: Sal Chillemi, John Chesnut, Dr. Charles S t e u r e r , Isaac L. Requa, Joe Rizzi, Jam e s Field, Jim Loughney, Captain W. A. H. Ely and others.
