According to Mr. Quinn tho Re publicans in Pleasantville are work ing hard. The m eeting of the Six teenth D istrict la*t week w as taken as a barom e te r of how the village will go for the Republican ticket. It was said that this district gave Jam e s J. The Wg issue, it was said, insofnr as Pleasantville is concerned is tlie roapportionm ent of the delegates. I’pon the dem and from Pleasantville arleouate representation w a s grant ed. But when it was found that the reapportionm ent does not take place for two years resentm ent was ex pressed in no uncertain terms. Tt is on this point that Charles lloyt, tho chairm a n of the Repub lican Town Committee is taking an active part. H o y t is telling the w a r ring factions th a t there is no need of the reapportionm e n t until 1933 when tho next Republican town convention will he held. Chairman Hoyt is expected to make a state ment to clarify the situation with in a few days. At Republican headquarters it was stated th a t the rum o r is still being spread th a t M arasco finds it good business to build highw ays for he receives a, percentage of the work. M arasco insists that this story is wrong for he receives b u t $1500 from the township for all highways constructed. AVhlle 110 big rallies are antici pated this week it was said th a t it will be a week of intense activity. There will be several m eetings in the village with various political groups besides m eetings in the over hack districts. It w a s reported today th a t H a w thorne is shaping up better than ever and th a t V a lhalla will give a splendid m a jority to the ticket be cause of the improvem ents m ade in that section the past few years.
