The value of the prod· ucts manufactured is 566,339,791. D URING the present year, it is estimated that there will be consumed by the population of the United States a total o£ approximately 1,434,951,000 pounds of candy. Of this huge amount, the population of New York State will consume in the vicinity of one-tenth of this total amount or 143,495,000 pounds. Surely these figures indicate a demand that candy manu- facturers cannot well afford to overlQok. It means that an av· erage of $6. per person will be spent by every man, woman and child in the state for this one article during the year, or a total of $65,000,000. The figures quoted above are based upon statistics gathered by the United States Department of Commerce which also show a decided tendency toward an increased demand. Candy manufacturers located in New York State are right in the heart of the richest market in the world, a market that offers a highly lucrativ~ field to those manufacturers who go after the business it offers. Their very proximity to this market means that their products reach the consumer while they are fresh, a point which is of more value to candy sales than it is to other products. The Daily Newspapers of New York State are reaching this vast market daily carrying the sales messages of those manufacturers who realize the possibilities it offers. You, too, can reach this market of 11'!2 million people through these newspapers more economically and efficiently than through any other meduim. You, too, can capitaliz&> on its potentiali- ties by appealing to it through the one medium that goes directly into its homes ev~ry day....:..the Daily Newspapers.
