Full Leaa1d Wir1 f VILLAGE WILL REPAIR STREETS WITH FUND A windfall In the sum of $8,806 came to the VIllage of North Tarl'Y- town from the State Tax Depart· ment, It was announced this week. Approximately $2,500 higher than the amount received last year, the Board of Trustees Is pleased with the amount. The money Is needed for repairing streets and other v!l· !age expenses and came just at the right time, a member of the board stated today. The vlllage gets a fair share each year of the mercantile and manufac- turers' tax, but for several years prior to this year the amount ap- portioned to North Tarrytown has been considerably less. The !lmount of the tax was helped upward, it Is said, by the Chevrolet Motor Company, Fisher Body and the Narco factories In the vlllage. Several years back when the Chev· rolet headctuarters were maintained here the village got a large share of tax which was said to be more than $10,000 annually. Since the Chevrolet headquarters was established at Detroit, Mich., the amount wa~ greatly reduced but the coming of the Fisher Body and Narco have aided In brlngmg the amount up to a much higher mark. There are prospects of several hundred dollars more due from the State for the remaining two quar· tere of 1927. The amount which has been rec.elv~d Is for the tlrst two quarters of 1927.
