2 North Westchester Times, New Castle Tribune, Mount Kisco, N.Y., December 17, Living Manger Scene Will Be Presented in Katonah Bedford Hills Notes Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mecterios and four duldren, who have been living in Yorktown, have moved to Bedford Hills and are residing in an apartment on the Foglia place on Babbitt Road vacated recently by Mr. and Mrs. Owen Reynolds The annual Christmas party for children, sponsored by the Robert F. Crandall Post No. 129. Amen can Legion, and its auxiliary, will be held on Sunday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Bedford Hills Commun ity House. There will be a Christ mas tree and Santa will appear. Each child attending is asked to bring a gift for the grab-bag, marked on the outside whether it is for a girl or boy and the age for which it would be appropriate. Robert Dunn of Church St., Bed ford Hills, one of the most ex perienced Santas in this section, made his first >uletide appearance as the Christmas, elf at the Bed- fore) Hills Soccer Club Christmas party held last Sunday at 3 p m. at the Bedford Hills Community House for members and their fam ilies. The Christmas program present ed annually by the Sunday School of the Bedford Hills Methodist Church will be held on Sunday at 7 p m. in the parish house. An orig inal play of the nativity, \The Drummer Roy\ written by Philip Barrett will be presented. School for the four mothers who were injured several weeks ago. Rehabilitation chairman Mrs. Patrick Hart Jr. announced at the monthly meeting of the Robert F. Crandall Unit No. 129 American Legion Auxiliary, that 103 gifts totaling $167 had been donated by the Auxiliary for the gift shop at Montrose Hospital. Mrs. Hart and several members of the Legion were at the hospital on Monday, Dec. 7, to help select and wrap the gifts for the patients there. The card party held on Dec. 1 was a success and Mrs. Lauretta Smith expressed her thanks to local mer chants for gifts donated as prizes. Ten dollars was set aside to buy fruit juices for Rosary Hill Cancer Home for Christmas. NATIVITY PAGEANT which will be presented on the lawn of the Methodist Church of Katonah on Dec. 23, will have these young people in the major roles. The party in cluded a buffet dinner which was followed by the wrapping of the gifts each member brought for the shut-ins at the Brookside Nursing Home in South Salem. Highlight of the evening was the lighting of the church's Christmas tree for which the members of the club bought new lights this year. Robbie Bird, who attends Maine Central Institute Prep School, Pittsfield, Maine, will arrive in Katonah on Saturday to spend his Christmas vacation at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Roberts and family of Mount Holly Rd., Katon ah. His mother, Mrs. F. A. Peters is at present living in Nairobi, East Africa. John and Sam Douglas, sons of Mr. and Mrs. John Douglas of Rte. 22, Katonah, arrived home this week from their respective courses of study for their Christ mas vacation. Hoff man, father* of Mrs. Losee, who have lived for many years at Har- Girl Scouts Make Cookies For Patients KATONAH - For a service project the Girl Scouts of Troop 273 have been making cookie jars and baking cookies, reports Dayle Keegan, scribe for the troop. One girl was picked from each patrol to go to Lee's Nursing Home on Bedford Center Road and distribute these gifts among the patients. They were also given to the four injured mothers in North ern Westchester Hospital. The girls were Betty Camarco, Connie Staud- ahor, and Susan Orlando. Troop ,273 is also getting ready for* a play they will present at a coming Girl Scout Rally. Mrs. Wil liam Giese took the place of Mrs. Charles Elsesser, troop leader, who was unable to attend the last meeting. Church Choir To Present Cantata KATONAH- A sacred Contata, \Childe Jes us\ by Clokey-Kirk will be pre sented by the choir of the Katonah Methodist Church at 4 o'clock on Sunday afternoon. Dec. 20. under the direction of Gustav A. Nel son, minister of Music, and assist ed at the organ by Mrs. Nancy Lee Tilney, organist in the Presby terian Church of Katonah. Soloists for the Cantata are Mrs. Henry Balgooyen and Mrs. John C. Forrest, soprano: Mrs. Roderick Smith and Miss Claudette Paillex, alto; Mr. Harold Wright, tenor; and Mrs. Archie Gaw bass. Two violin duets will be played by Miss Joann Richards and John A. Richards, accompanied by Mr. Nelson. Following the telling of the Christmas story in music, the cantata will conclude with a brief service of candlelighting, symbolizing the coming of Christ's light into the world at Christmas, and the spread of that light through the centuries and around the world. Ethical Society Slates Annual Winter Festival BEDFORD HILLS— The Annua] Winter Festival of the Ethical Society of Northern Westchester will be held this year on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 20 at 2 30 p.m. in the Bedford Hills Com munity Center. Y. George will arrive from Mary land on Saturday. He is planning to make the Navy or Air Corps his career and upon graduation in two years time, from the U.S. Navel Acadfny, will marry Miss Arlene Dunn of Brewster. Charles is pursuing a medical career at Hamilton with special izing' in pediatrics as his goal. He arrives tomorrow.
