North Westchester Times, Mt. Kisco, N. Y., Dec. 25, 1958 Chappaqua Mr. and Mrs. Donald West of St. Elmo Hill left last Thursday for a three weeks visit in Phoenix, Ariz, with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Leo De Pinto. Mrs. De Pinto is the former Miss Nancy West. Miss Anne Leydecker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Leydecker of Briarcliff Rd., is home for the holidays from the University of Colorado, where she is a sopho more. Peter W. Mitchell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacques Mitchell of /Hardscrabble Rd., has been initi ated into Pfei Alpha Theta, national history honorary, at the Univer sity of Colorado where he is study ing law. To be eligable for mem bership, a student must have a B average or better and a deep in terest in history as a major. He is a 1954 graduate of Horace Gree dy High School, and a 1958 gradu ate of Colgate University. William J. Miller of 45 Pines La. cipal, speaker last week at historic York Herald Tribune, was the prin- cipa. speaker last week at historic St. Paul's Church, Eastchester, in ceremonies in observance of the 167 th anniversary of the rati fication of the Bill of Rights. The church has been designated as a national shrine of the Bill of Rights. David Mitchell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacques Mitchell of Hard scrabble Rd., is home for the holi days from Union College, Schenec tady, N. Y., where he is a junior. Henry Carroll, son of Mr. and Town Talk Mrs- Constantine M. Carroll of 2 Southvdew Rd., returned home for the holidays last Wednesday from Raleigh, N. C, where he is a so phomore at North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engin eering. Force is on leave from Moodie \FB at Valdosta, Ga.; Lt. Greg ory C. Sinnott, USMC, is on leave from Qunatico, Va.; and Jack Sin nott is home on vacation from the College of the Holy Cross, Worces ter, Mass. They join their parents aid their sisters: Nancy, a senior at Good Counsel Academy in White Plains; and Mary V. and Cynthia, students at St. .Thomas' School m Pleasantville. Mrs. M. H. Camp of 206 Mill wood Rd. was awarded the Championship Trophy of the Tues day Afternoon Duplicate Bridge CJub last week, at the masterpoint game held at the White Plains YMCA. Mrs. D. A. Dillenberg of 3 Bedford Rd. was given a series award Mrs. Camp and Hubert Simon of NevP Rochelle placed first in last week* game. Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Coy of 115 Hamilton Rd. were awarded trophies recently by the Sports Car Club of America, New York Region. Mrs. Coy's was for second place as driver, and Mr. Coys' for third place as navigator, the awards being based on points ac cumulated at rallies during the ye&r. Dr. and Mrs. Donald Weisman of 5 Seven Bridges Rd. were top winners in last Wednesday r.'ght's weekly bridge game of the. Central Westchester Bridge League, played at Pleasantvfile High School. The Howell move ment was used. The next meeting, which may be attended by any bridge player, will be held Jan. 7. A joyous Christmas family re union is in store for the Sinnots of Deepwood, whose entire family will be together. Lt. Gilbert J. Sin nott III of the United States Air Many Chappasua residents may recall the name of Terry Jefferson, pianist and composer who lived on Satem Rd. about 10 years ago. Jefferson, whose professional name was Ten Josefovitz, died recently, but one of his songs is due to be come a hit according to Walter Winchell. The song, \Au Revoir Again\ has been recorded for Columbia Records by Polly Ber gen. URGE RACEWAY TAX NEW ROCHELLE—An addition al tax at the Yonkers Raceway, to be levied by Westchester Coun ty, was urged by New Rochelle City Council Dec. 17. The tax will require State legislative bless ings A council resolution called on the Legislature for such per mission. The tax under considera tion is 15 per cent. Councilman Theodore R. Greene piloted the resolution. Miss Wickes Will Marry R. G. Jaeger Mr. and Mrs. William Wirt Wickes of Lawrence Farms, Chap paqua have announced the engage ment of their daughter, Miss Caro lyn Deborah Wickes, to Richard Gaines Jaeger, son of Mr. and Mrs Gustave A. Jaeger of Kipp St, Chappaqua. Both Miss Wickes and Mr. Jae ger are graduates of Horace Gree ley High School. Miss Wickes, a senior at Mount Holyoke College, has been active on the Water Ballet Team, and served as a member of the Judi cial Board and as vice president of the Student Government. Named a Sarah Williston Scholar in her junior year, she is now president of the Student Government. Mr. Jaeger, a senior at Dart mouth, is a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, and is president of Casque and Gauntlet, senior honor ary society. Lindsay of Armonk, took place Saturday aft ernoon at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hawthorne. The Rev. Clarence E. Dohrman per formed the 4 o'clock ceremony. Christmas greens and white al ter bouquets decorated the church for the ceremony. The soloist, Roy Gilbert of Hawthorne, sang \Song of Ruth\ and the Lord's Prayer The bride, who was given in mar riage by her father, wore a gown of white Alencon lace over satin, with long sleeves, a petal collar and a chapel length train. She wore a Juliet cap of lace with a finger-tip veil of French illusion She carried a prayer book on which were fastened a white or chid and stephanotis. Mrs. Paul E. Mittelstaedt of S, Colton, N. Y., sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Her gown was of emerald green velvet, with a scoop neck and full skirt, and she wore a matching head dress Her crescent bouquet was of gold and bronze chrysanthemums. Adrian McGuire of Pleasantville was best man, and ushers were William Reid Lindsay Jr., of Val halla brother of the bridegroom; Paul E. Mittelstaedt, brother-in- law of the bride; and 2nd Lt. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Whitehead of Maryville, Term., is girls' physical education instructor at the Robert E. Bell School. Mr. Meredith, son of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Meredith of Dwar- kill. N Y . teaches social studies at Horace Greeley High School. The bride wore a white sheer wool street-length dress and a white feather hat. She carried a bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. Mrs. Allen Hall Mar of Pine Bush, N.Y., sister of the bride groom, was matron of honor. She wore a pink sheer wool dress, with matching accessories, and carried pink roses. Charles C. Whitehead of Nash ville, Tenn., brother of the bride was best man for Mr. Meredith. Mrs. Meredith is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, and received her M.A. from Peabody College. Mr. Meredith graduated from Colgate University, where he was a member of Delta Upsilon frater nity. He holds an M.A. from New York University. The bridesmaids were Miss Alice Greene of Stamford, Conn, and Mrs. David Martin of Irvington-on- Hudson. Their gowns and head dresses were like those of the maid of honor, and they carried gold hoops of flame and white carnations with ivy and holly. Richard Mayer of Johnstown, Pa. was best man for Mr. Maloney Ushers were Lee Fingar, brother of the bride; William Sell of Atlanta, Ga.; Sam Grauer of Warrington, Pa.; and Lee Redd of Ryr.al, Pa.
