The wreath making is an annual project of the Chappaqua. Garden Club. Mrs. C. C. Thatch demonstrated the making of various Christmas decorations and talked on the sub ject of \Colorful Christmas\. Mrs. Thatch stated that she \leaned toward the traditional at Christ mas\ but that many so-called modern treatments in display were really quite ancient. She gave many specific helpful suggestions about the mechanics of creating decorations. A brief business meeting was presided over by Mrs. Walter Carr. Announcement was made that in response to popular demand, the club will organize a Rock Garden Group. The first meeting will be held* at-10:30 -arm. Jan. 21 at the home of Mrs. Marvin Camp. Previous to the meeting, tea was served by a hospitality committee which included Mrs. John Darrow, chairman, Mrs. Thomas K. Fish er and Mrs. F.I. Wurzburg, Jr. The able arrangement was by Mrs. George McCoy. Mrs. Lawrence Rice was in charge of the tea ta ble at which Mrs. Yocum and Mrs. Donald H. Whitney poured. Pt. Ralph Hyatt, twenty four, Was the first casualty; he frac tured the index finger on his left hand when he fell in the South Moger Avenue parking lot on Dec. 12 while checking parking meters. Hyatt was relived of duty the rest of the day and assigned to desk duty the following morning. The premiere of a new ballet, \The Dream Toy Shop\ will be presented, as well as \Peter and the WDIT and \Cinderella two of the^lcoBapany's most popular productions.\ Director \-\Choreographer Iris Merrick has based the story of \The Dream Toy Shop\ on an Irish folk tale and set it to the music of Rossini -Respighi. The story is set in the late nineteenth century and concerns a young governess whose vivid imagination carries her and the young children she cares for to a toy shop which exists in her dream world, where they are entertained by fabulous dolls, gay clowns, and a handsome prince.
