MAIN STREET MOL t Kisco 6 -4814 North Castle Board Park Ruling ARMONK— The North Castle Town Board on March 13 refrained from a de cision on a petition for establish ment of a Windmill Farms Park District. Petitioners had asked the board to set aside 32 to 35 acres of the development as a park dis trict for use only by residents of Windmill Farms. Councilman Walter Wohlfeil ex pressed reservations about re moving the land from the tax rolls. A loss of some 2,000 in taxes was mentioned. \Why should the people in the rest of the town pay tax on land exclusively for the benefit of Wind mill residents?\ he asked. Supervisor James Caruso replied there has been deliberation that the $2,000 deficit may be appor tioned in the entire Windmill area He promised action on the petition within a month. Further consideration was of fered, in the face of eight letters of opposition, of the Suburban Propane Gas Company's desire to /locate a storage facilities in Banks^ ville. The letters urged the board to retain the present gas storage ordinance which excluded this type of operation. A zining ordinance amendment would be necessary be fore the company could locate any place in the town. The board was granted a fran chise to White Plains to install a larger water main in North White Plains. The main planned by the city will provide North White Plains with a million-gallon-a-day source of water. There were no objections at the three-minute hearing. \It is obvious from the fact that no one is here that residents must be quite satisfied,\ observed the supervisor.
