Continued from page 1 Saidel plus the theatre committee of Casey Canell, Marilyn LaPierre and Karen Brungard, the tale of Skull Island from the pen of Robert Louis Stevenson raised the curtain... And at the Whalesbreath Inn, a dilemma was unfolding, Mother and her six daughters were busy readying for the \Villagers\ to partake of a meal, and \crabby\ with their demeanor, Mother was trying to instill the virtues of \Service with a Smile\ no matter what. Enter Jim, her only son, who has nothing on his mind but becoming a pirate and has even gone so far as enlisting three ruffians as his partners. Soon to enter, very sneaky in her wily ways was Captain Long Jane Silver...get the drift? And- she was still lamenting the loss of not only her husband but her parrot, Captain Flint! Would she find the treasure first or would Jim be on the high seas before her? All of her clever conniving to find the \treasure\ on Skull Island left little to the imagination as in a short five day period of learning lines, dance steps and costume changes, whoops there are the seagulls floating around once more. Seagulls? Yes, lots of them who performed with grace and stamina, adding comic relief to the score. With a strange mysterious hooded figure who sat and drew a map and then vanished, Captain Jane knew she had to shyster Jim and his pirates to come along on the quest for the treasure. As soon as Mother heard the story, she reluctantly gave permission for the dangerous journey and that it was. One would not have had to worry when Captain Jane's Pirates were introduced. With names like Davey the Letterman, Sing song Sam and others, their overtaking of anything would have been a real surprise. Anyway, the story kept unfolding and finally the treasure Was located on famous \Skull Island\ and only then was it learned that those wood nymphs were in actuality Jim's sisters from back home who stowed away iii order to keep him safe. ; The \treasure\ was a hodgepodge of individual \treasures\ that soon melded tlje two factions into one w.hen the moral of the story is- cooperation and \Service with a Smile.\ ; Yes and Captain Flint was on Skull Island and happily found his owner, Captain Long Jane Silver!'
