Information Page 5'Gouverneur Tribune Press, Thursday July 17 2008 Those who wish to register for the upcoming Information Technology Strategic Planning Workshop hosted by St. Lawrence County, had better act quipkly. Response has been outstanding, and there are a few seats left. Organizers have extended th,e registration deadline until today (Thursday, July 17) in hopes of accommodating anybody who didn't get their registration in on time. To learn more and to register go online to www.citec.org and click' the St. Lawrence County Information Technology Strategic Planning link. This one-day workshop is designed to lay the foundation for an Information Technology Strategic Plan for the county. Workshop participants will explore the technology needs of various county constituencies, how those needs are being or not being met, and wliat the county can do to address the shortfalls. The one day event will take place July 24,9 a.m. - 4 p.m. in Potsdam. The workshop will create a \roadmap\ for technology- based growth and economic development in St, Lawrence County; help county and local government officials use technologyjo improve efficiencies, ' increase services, and be good stewards of taxpayer dollars; and gain an understanding of the needs of stakeholders across the county. The county needs to hear first-hand what your technology ne'eds and challenges ace. Your ideas on how to tetter Leverage federal and state grant dollars to gain the most for the residents and businesses in the county registration deadline extended are welcome. Finally, the workshop will encourage you to share ideas on how to use technology better, and how to grow the infrastructure in a responsible manner that benefits all county constituents.
