Be sure to mark June 14 th on your calendar and help the Gouverneur Chamber of Commerce celebrate its 100 th birthday, while we all honor the American Flag. It's certain to be a day filled with community fun and celebration. by Sandy Wyman The annual Spring Dance fundraiser for the E.J. Noble Hospital Auxiliary on Saturday, lune 7 featured a theme, Ellis Island, the Island of lope highlighting the process of millions of individuals who came to America through the Port of New York for over 62 years. For the past 58 years, the auxiliary has maintained a standard of excellence in the community through its dedication to the care and comfort of patients in our local community hospital. While countless volunteers have freely given their time and commitment, the rise of population within the North Country in the last century has been spurned on by the vast number of immigrants who came to our shores to find a better way of life. No where is that more possible than right here, the mainstay of any organization are the people who serve. Whether it is a recent citizen who cares about the auxiliary's creed or someone whose family found fortune generations ago in America, the fundraiser serves a higher calling.
