Stevenson, 81, Gouverneur, will be at noon Thursday, April 24, 2008, in Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur, with the Rev.' Wilfred Baez, .pastor of the Gouverneur United Methodist Church, officiating. Mrs. Stevenson died Sunday, April 20,2008, at E.J. Noble Hospital, Gouverneur. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Born February 26,1927, in Gouverneur, daughter of Warner and Beulah (Storie) Miller, she graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1945. . She married Richard H. Stevenson on September 14, 1946, in Gouverneur. He died October 11,1991. She worked at A&P Supermarket for several years and was a member o the production team at MRS Printing Co., the former publisher of the Gouverneur Tribune Press, for many years. Surviving are a son, Richard W., Gouverneur; a daughter and her husband, Ann Marie and Jim Uruburu, Rochester; a sister and her husband, Diane and Stephen Keung, Miami, Fla.; two grandsons and a nephew. A sister, Geraldine Miller, died before her. Mrs. Jesmer died Monday, April 14., 2008, at E.J. Noble Hospital, Gouverneur. Born July 3, 1930, in Gouverneur, daughter of Leonard and Georgina (Patton) Bresett, she graduated from Gouverneur High School. She married Donald Joseph Jesmer on October 8, 1949. Mr. Jesmer, a retired Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp., Star Lake, employee, died January 4,1995. Mrs. Jesmer worked at several jobs in Gouverneur, lastly working at the Groveton Paper Co. in Natural Dam. Surviving are four sons and three daughters-in-law, Leonard and Jerrilyn, Joseph and Kathy, Dale and Veronica, and Vance and his fiancee,- Jackie Gates, all of Gouverneur; two daughters and their husbands, Cheryl and Gregory Kirby, Gouverneur, and Candi and Craig Lynde, Fowler; two brothers, Jay Bresett, Gouverneur, and Dean Bresett, LeRay; two sisters, Betty Gale, Morristown, and Linda Tharrett, Gouverneur; 19 .grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren. , An infant son, Mark, two brothers, Thomas and Floyd Bresett, and a sister, Joyce Griffin, died before her. Johnston, 55, of Rialto, California, formerly of Harrisville, will be on May 17, 2008, at 11 a.m., at Fairview Cemetery, Edwards. French Funeral Home, Gouverneur, is in charge of the arrangements. There will be no calling hours. Mr. Johnston died March 29,2008, at the SanBurnadino Community Hospital. He had been ill with cancer. Born on December 13, 1952, in Gouverneur, the son of Douglas L. and Dorothy J. (Aldridge) Johnston. Among his survivors are his father, of Harrisville. He was predeceased by his mother. Marilyn J. Given EDWARDS—The funeral for Marilyn J. Given, 68, Edwards was Saturday, April 19, 2008, at French Funeral Home, Edwards, with lay speakers William Strate and Marilyn Constantine officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Given died Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at Clifton-Fine Hospital, Star Lake. Born December 18,1939, in Gouverneur, daughter of Merrill and Ruth (Davis) Shore, she graduated from Edwards Central School in 1957 and attended Central City Business Institute, Syracuse. She married Robert A. Given on December 5,1959, at Edwards Methodist Church with the Rev. Albert A. Cameron officiating. Mrs. Given was a homemaker and had provided child care and in-home elder care. She also had worked as a secretary for two years for Ralph and Marge Dier at Dier Insurance Agency, Edwards. She was a member of the Edwards United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, and had a beautiful voice, and was a Sunday school teacher. She also was a Girl Scout leader for many years and enjoyed bowling, crocheting and knitting. Surviving besides her husband are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cheryl L. Given and Marilee A. and Robert Wright, all of Edwards, and Robynn J. and Anton Pennyman, Macon, Ga.; a sister, Goldie Zeller, Wisconsin, eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
