Pope. Grace King has completed her work for Mrs. D. L. Pope and returned to her home. Herbert-Coman spent Thursday at C, E, Clark’s, his grandfather’s,, re turning home with him for the week Clayton Main has completed his work at West Exeter and is i^ending some time a t the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Main. Miss Irene is also home for- Easter vacation. Rozila Page is home for the Easter vacation, Hiram Chesebro spent Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fre'd Gould. Mrs. William Palmer re turned home with him after spending the winter a t the Gould home. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Mayne and family and Mr. and Mrs. Newell Mayne spent Sunday at Merton Mayne’s. ■* Clayton Main, Sidney Pope, John and Otto Benson spent Sunday after noon with Herbert and; Clarence Coman. ’ Among those who are on the sick list are Lizzie McQuade, Bernice King, Howard Page, Melvin Button and Lee Main. Mrs. Bruce Bass and daughter Mar garet visited relatives in West Win field last week. Albert Ward and Alanson Crandall visited at the home of the latter’s father, Earl Cmndall, in West Win field, Sunday. L. H. Burdick of DeRuyter, who has been in the employ of the Bab cock Manufacturing Co., during the jvinter, has completed Ms work and returned to Ms home. Miss Dorothy Stark attended the weddiilg of a cousin in Oneida last Wednesday. Mrs. William Kam, who has been with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Alger, the past three weeks, left Sat urday morning for California. She was accompanied as far as Utica by her moftier and sister, Mrs. Floyd Larrabee. Miss Dorothy Stark visited friends in Bridgewater Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Williams of Brookfield were in town Simday. Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Moore and fam ily of Buffalo arrived at the Home of Mrs, Edith Ellsworth, Friday, making the trip by auto. A message was received 'Thursday stating that H. D. Babcock had sus tained a stroke of paralysis at the home of Ms daughter, Mrs. G. P. Titsworth, in Plainfield, where he had gone for a visit. 'The latest message reports a slight improvement in his condition. We are glad to report an improve ment in the condition of Mrs. F. H. Babcock, who has been receiving treatment at St Luke’s Hospital, Utica, for several weeks, and it is hoped she will soon return home fully restored to normal health. Rev. William Williams leaves tins morning to attend, the annual M. E. Conference at Malone. It is under stood that Mr. Williams will not take a charge the coining year, only con ditionally. Mrs. Williams will ac company Mm, There will be no service at the M. E. church next Sunday. The Ladies’ Aid Society of the M. E. Church held a farewell gathering at the home of Mrs. Clara Worden Saturday afternoon, April 10th- 'The afternoon was a pleasant one, al though saddened by the thought of losing an esteemed and faithful mem ber. Mrs. Wiltiams, as a farewell token of love esteem, was pre sented with a nice leather bottomed rocker, by the ladies. The latest report from Mrs. Alma Searle, who, for- many weeks, has been in St. Luke’s Hospital, is more favorable, and it is now expected that she can come home ere long. Last Wednesday evening, it being Mrs. W. P. Brown’s birthday, it was thought best by a number of friends that the event should be noticed, so according to usual custom, the word went forth and a fine lunch was pre pared, and the company convened at Mrs. Biwvn’s home. It surely i “sui-prise” and a most enjoyable eve- nihg was spent TOth Mr. and Mrs. Brown. Although they had not pre pared for the event, the company was made very welcome, and all expressed themselves as having had a very fine time and hoped to have many more like occasions. Mrs. McIntyre, who has been spend ing some time with her daughter, Mrs. Emmet Williams, is now visiting Comish-Hill Wedding At the home of the bride, at one o’clock Saturday, April 10th, occurred the wedding of Miss Sarah W. Hill, daughter of the late George L. Hill, of Utica, and of Mrs. Pranklina H.' Hill, to Stanley G. Cornish, son of the late George R. and Mrs. Jennie'Cor nish, of Rome. The ceremony was .performed at the home of the bride’s brother-in-law, W. A. Pine, of Sau- quoit, by Rev. George W. Wellbum, D., o f Scranton, Pa. Owing to the recent death of the bride’s father, only immediate relatives were pres- The bride is a graduate of Wells College and has held the\ position of preceptress of the Leonardsville High School. The groom is a graduate of Buffalo Normal and is principal of the Leonardsville High School. The bride wore a gown of white em broidered gauze over white silk. Paul Crandall is Carrying the chil dren from District No. 27 to Brook field. Beaver Hill people were much sad dened when the news was phoned to James Crandall’s people the morning of April 10th that Mrs. Delma Frink had passed away. Much sympathy is felt for the husband,' who is in poor health, also for the two daugh ters and other members of ihe family. Mrs. Andrew Palmer and Albert Clark went to Utica last week and Andrew Palmer returned home with them, after several weeks’ stay in the -hospital. ' Mrs. Susannah and Miss Isabell Daley called at John Searle’s one day last week. They report Mr. Searle quite feeble. Mrs. Searle is better than a few weeks ago. Emmet Williams, is now -visit her sister near Smyrna. Mrs. Hubert Spurr of South Ed- meston called on Mrs. Otto Mayne Saturday afternoon. Mrs. B. E. Rollins was in New Ber- iin Saturday, shopping. Mrs. Wilcox is much impi-oved and able to be out Mrs. Stolt and dau^ter Katherine of Norwich are guests of her brother, Rev. C. W. Newman. Mrs. Byron Chapman, who has been very ill for .two weeks, gains .very slowly, being able only(to sit up for a few minutes each day. We hope her recovery may be more rapid from this time and that she will soon regain her usual health. Don’t forget the minstrel show at Memorial hall on April 21st. Mr. and Mi-s. The club has now a membership of 30, and is one of the two in Otsego county that have “gone over the top.” The next meeting will he on May 11, with Mrs. Lyman Barrett. Mrs. E. A.
