Decker as captain. —-The Temperance meeting at the Academy of Music last night was one of stirring interest. —Church sociable this evening at the First] Presbyterian parlors. —Miss Potter opens the annual course on Nov, 30. She will present an entire new series of impersonations. —August Mudrack, lias been presented with a son and heir which tips the scale at ten pounds. He is the happiest man in Elmira. —There will be a meeting of the Greenback Labor Reform City Committee Saturday, the 17th, by order chairman, J ohn N e f f . —W orkmen excavating for the foundation walls of Richardson’s new factory, discovered a pile of bones, which are pronounced those of a human being. —The delay in the canvass of the returns by the Board, is owing to the non filing of the returns from several parishes in the county. —Not very good weather for the Oyster trade, but Mr. John Blampied has some of the nicest ones you ever saw. His place is on Lake street near Carroll. —The Gazeite still keeps up its “ howP* about the Labor Party being run by Bepubli- cans. They have told the same old story over so many times that they are beginning to be lieve its true, —Sunday services at South Main Street M. E.
