Cincinnati—Cincinnatis 5, St. Louis i. Gen, McClellan has accepted the nomination for the governorship of New Jersey. The First National Bank of Cortland was rohbed of ^200,000 Saturday. Rev. James A. Duncan, Methodist minister and president of Macon College, died at Ash- land, Va., yesterday. In Havana the cigar makers strike is increas- ing. Three hundred shops have been embar- goed by the government, to help them pay taxes. A Plymouth, Pa., dispatch says there is a prospect of early resumption of mining in the Wyoming region, and intimidation or violence prevents the majority of miners going to work immediately. The superintendent of the Patent Office, at Washington, estimates that the models destroy- ed by fire, yesterday, will not exceed l$6o,ooo. Damage to the building will be about ^500,000. Many theories are given as to the origin of the fire. In Columbia county Mollie Maguires have committed outrages on all witnesses who testi- fied in the Molly trials. Two men have been killed near Rupeit, and the house of Ringrose, a prominent witness, with the Lutheran parson- age and the house of Rev. Mr. McCoon, have been burned. Several Ku Klux notices have been sent to others. A Scranton dispatch says that the Lackawan- na operators will open their collieries to-day or to-morrow, and men have been picked out who are vvilling to work i f giv'en military protection, and this will be given. There are thirteen companies of regulars, the City Guards, a bat- talion, and four other companies now i n Scran- ton, and the months' regiments will be called out by the Governor i f needed. It is generally believed if work is thus resumed trouble wilj ensue, as it is known that many companies of miners have been drilling recently.
