These new drugs attack the tubercle bacillus directly and pre- vent the spread of the disease to other parts or the lung, ex- pediting at the same time the healing of the infected part. The physicians \Say Che results are \very encouraging \ The older forms of treatment are'being used too including bed rest and surgery» Many of the kinds of surgery still prove most effectual and essential in the ar resting of the disease The Chenango Bridge institu tion discharged 67 patients last year Of these 29 were arrested cases. 1 were apparently arrest ed, 5 were quiescent, 10 were un- ' stable, 1 was undetermined.
