A T W O O D S H o t A i r E m p i r e C o o k i n g S t o v e . T H E citizens of Binghamton and vicinity arc re spectfully informed, that the undersigned has procured the right to sell Atwood s H o t A ir Empire Cooking Stove. The advantages which this stove lossessK. over all others that have been invented Witt be readily appreciated upon an examination o f the philosophical principles upon which* it is eon- stnicted, and its p erfect adaptation to purposes designed. It is simple in its arrangement, n ea t anc. chastein itsappeai ance, economical in the consump- lion ot fuel, and both durable and convenient in its use It has a large oven, and four boiler holes the entire heat at all times passes directly in rotation under theffirst three boilers, and then, by an entire IJw arrangement of the flues, is earned around Jlfeh end ofthe oven, and under the fourth boiler in- tothe exit pipe, as will be seen on examination. C E R T I F I C A T E , t v Annexed are a tew who have these stoves in ttsv which will serve in some measure to show the estimation in which they are h e ld: W e , the undersigned, have in use Atwood s Hot A ir Cooking Stove, and are willing to bear testimo ny to its many excellent qualities. It performs all the various' operations of a cooking stove with great convenience, and less fuel, than any other stove we have ever seen or used, and we would recommend our friends and the public, wishing a first rate cook ing apparatus, to examine the Empire Stove p revi ous to purchasing. p . Robins , W m . Cook, E B Greers Sam i Weedy J. Feller, Jas Halstead. Binghamton, Sept. 20, 1845. The New-York Evening Post contains the follow ing notice o fthis Stove, which was exhibited at the late Fair o f the American Institute, at NiJblo’s Gar den, No. 401: , , r A tw o od ’ s H ot A ir E m p ir e C ooking S t o v e .— W e ha^e given this stove a thorough examination, and we think that it is better adapted to culinary purpo ses than any other stove we have examined, and for baking or roasting itm ust be invaluable. The stove is so constructed, that cold a ir is admitted through a hole at the bottom, and then passes through a chamber.by the side of the fire, where it becomes perfectly heated, and is then introduced into the oven. A t the top o f the oven, thereis ahole thi ough which the steam that arises from the article baked is carried off Our attention was directed to this stove by a member of the American Institute, who has lately purchased one for his own use, and he aavs it is superior to any stove that he has ever us ed. This stove may be used either in summer or winter, and with either wood or coal, and will an swer every pui pose of an oven, with about one-third of the expense. Hence it has ever been the study of all great physicians to disguise its nauceous taste. But their efforts have never been crowned with complete success. It was left for Dr. Smith to accomplish. M essrs .S ands : N ew -Y ork , Dec. 1, 1843. Gentlemen—Parental feelings induce us to make the following statement of facts in relation tothe impoitant cuire of our little daughter, wholly effected by the use ofSandis Sarsaparilla. For nearly three years she was afflicted wiih a most iuvetcrate eruption on the body, which at times was so bad, connected with internal disease, that we despaired ofherlife. The complaint commenced in the roots ofthe hair, aad gradually spread until the whole head was envel oped, and then it attacked the ears, and ran down the neck, and continuing- to increase until it covered the most of the body. Itcornmenced with a small pimple or pustule, from which water at first discharged; this produced great itch ing and binning; then matter or pus formed, the sklin cracked and hied, and the pus discharged freely. The snfferings of the child were so great as almost wholly ito prevent natural rest, and the odor from the discharges so Of fensive as to make it difficult to pay that particular atten tion the nature of the case required. The disease was cal led Scald Head and general Salt. Rheum. We tried vari ous remedies, with little benefit, and considered her case almost beyond.the reach of medicine; but from the known virrueofyour Sarsaparilla, we we e induced to give it a trial Beforethe first bottle was all used, we perceived an iin provement in the appearance of the eruption; but the change was so rapid for the better, that wc could scarcely give credence to the evidence of our own eyes. We con tinned its use for a few weeks, and the result is a perfect cure. To all Parents we would say:—If you have children suffering with any disease of the skin, use Sands’ Sarsapa- O R I G I N A L CHEAP DRUG STORE REMOVED, rilla. Mr. G. R. Hendrickson, Savannah. I) ear Sir—Having just recovered from a most severe Chronic Rheumatism, with which I have been afflicted for many years, and having used various remedies without any suececs, 1 am induced to write to you in respect fo Sands’ Sarsaparilla, to which valuable medicine I now owe my presenl enjoyment of health. Despairing of ever re covering from this distressing disease, and, while laboring under the most acute agony and pain, I was persuaded ito try the Sarsaparilla so highly recommended for tlie cure of rheumatism. 1 tried one bottle, and the little benefit 1 derived from that one, induced me to givo it a fair trial, which I did, by sending down to you for half a dozen bot tles; and am now happy to say I find myself, for the first time in twelve years, well and able to attend to my neces sary duties I send you this through a feeling of grati- tKde, due this excellent medicine, and a sense of obligation to my fellow beings, that those similarly afflicted, may be induced to try this valuable remedy, Sands’ Sarsaparilla. W hen these vessels are wedk ot? diseased, the per spiration is thick and clammy ancl adheres to the mouths of the pores and clogs them up, and dries and forms scurf or dandruff. Less blood is then carried to the roots of the hair, and for want of which the hair has not sufficient nourishment, anid consequently becomes dry and harsh, and begins insensibly to fall off which continuing to increase, eventually produces baldness. Restore the capilla ry vessels o fthe head to their former healthy circu lation, and a fine silky new hair will make its ap pearance which will increase in quantity and vol ume until the hair becomes thick and healthy. J ayne ’ s H air T onic is the only preparation that has ever been known to produce new H a ir on Balld Heads, which it has done in innumerable instances, and will seldom fail, if properly and p ersevering^ used. For the Efficacy of the above medicine, we refer to Gen. Ephraim Robbins J r. of Uaion, whose hair has been restored hy the use of it. For sale by L. M. REXFORD, Agent. Jayne’s Expectorant. It was the result of many years study and experi ence of an eminent physician, and was used by him through a long and extensive, practice; it is a happy combination of vegetable substances, is mild, safe, but effectual. Headache is a disease front which arises more misery to the human family than from almost any other, being insidious in its course, and not being directly fatal, is frequently neglected to such an extent as to impair the general health, injure the constitution and induce dangerous diseases.— When there are indications of an approaching attack of Sick Headache if an immediate resort be had to the Pills the attack will be obviated. Then, if a dull, disagreeable sensation of the head is felt, -caused by a determination of blood' to the bead, or in cases of periodical \Headache; they will be found effectual in curing and obviating the attacks. Food should be taken in moderate quantities, hearty aed stimulating kinds, and articles apt to produce acidity avoided. When the system has beeu a long time out of order, and a predisposition to severe and sudden attacks, some little time with patience, and constant use of the medicine will be. necessary, before full advanta ges will be derived from it. They have been found equally efficacious in Dyspepsia, Indigestion, loss of appetite, Heartburn, Giddiness, &c. Its success whi'.e used in private medical practice, as well as sincc-it has been before the public, affording conclu sive evidence of its value, and the proprietors desi rous of placing it within the reach of every individual, have been induced to reduce the price to twelve and a half cents per Box. lETFor Sale by Robert C. W e s t’s C h lorine Cosmetic A N D P IL L S , F OR the cure of Salt Rheum, Scald Head, Ring Worms, &c. Unparalleled success! This remedy has given relief in every case, and has cured over two thousand nine hundred in tukek thousand . The above medicine is a rare combination of med ical remedies of great value ; from Hs superior heal ing properties, and from its use in many cases when all other remedies have failed, not only curing but giving relief immedialely-T-justifies us in saying that itis the most valuable and efficacious remedy ever presented to the public in cases of Salt Rheum Ring Worm, Scald head, and all diseases of the Skin and Blood. It is not offered like many nostrums of the day, upon the mere recommendation of the proDrielors, but upon the testimony of Piiysicians, eminent in their profession, who have not only examined the compo sition, but tested its healing virtues in their practice, and upon tbe- testimony of others who have been relieved from a sta t e of suffering, a f te r having tried o, all other prescriptions in vain. 1 00 31 a n d 62$ 50 50 1 00 1 50 37$ 25 1 00 25 25 50 37$ 1 00 3~$ 50 and 75 25 J 50 50 25 25 12$ 25 to 50 & 1 00 37f 25 2 5 ',lage; VV The success which has attended this medicine is wonderful beyond description. Persons with the most inveterate eruptions covering the whole body and head, causing the hair to fall off and who have tried all the remedies and skill they could procure wiihout any lasting benefit, have been in a few weeks perfectly and permanently cured. Of this fact hun dreds of certificates could be procured, but they could not more thoroughly convince the public than the testimony already adduced. When men of the first respectability and standing in community think it their duty to incur the res ponsibility of recommending it to their fellow citizens it is evident that there must be something more than common in its effects. Itis also equally appa rent that Piiysicians will not hazard their reputation in recommending a medicine not justly tested, or which is unworthy of notice. These facts offer an argument so plain-and conclusive that they need only be mentioned to enforce conviction. EF For sale by Robert C. Trivett, Binghamton ; Sandford & Steele, Union ; H.
