F r e d e r i c k E d e l m a n n M r s : C a t h e r i n e E d e lm a n n o f F o s t e r d a l e , a h o u s e w ife , died la s t T u e s d a y in M o n ticello H o s p ita l. S h e w a s 90. M r s . E d e lm a n n was b o rn Oct. 13, 1875, in P h ila d e lp h ia , Pa., the daughter o f Theodore and W h ilim - in a S ilv e r s c h m id t W e in e r t . She was m a r r ie d to F r e d e r ic k E d e lm a n n , w h o is deceased, and liv e d in the F o s t e r d a le area fo r 65 years. S u r v iv in g are tw o daughters, M r s . Irene A n d r e s e n , both o f Fo s t e r d a le ; tw o sons, L o u is of M ia m i, F la ., and George of W a w a r s in g ; 18 grand ch ild r e n ; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Sutherland, 74, of W h ite S u lp h u r Springs, died la s t Tu e s d a y i n L ib e r t y Lo o m is H o s p ita l after a lon g illness. B o r n in th e T o w n o f L ib e r t y , Aug. 20, 1891, he w a s the son o f C h a rles and R o s a L e w is S u t h e r land. H e m a r r ie d L in d a Pease. A se lf-e m p lo y e d m e c h a n ic , h e h a d lived in W h ite S u lp h u r S p r in g s fo r 40 years. H e w a s a m e m b e r of the W h ite S u lp h u r S p r in g s F i r e D e p a r t m e n t fo r 26 years. S u r v ivin g are h is w ife; a son, V e r n o n of W h ite L a k e ; a stepson, C h a n d ler P e a s e of Chatham , N . Y . ; six gran d c h ild r e n ; three sisters, M r s . R e v a W i l l i and M r s . B e u la h Low itz, both of L ib e r t y , and M r s . M a r t h a ' D e n m a n of G raham s v ille ; a brother, A r l ie , of B a in b r id g e . Services w e re held T h u r s d a y from R a m s a y ’s F u n e r a l H o m e , L i b erty, w ith the R e v . H . .M a r k h a m F a r g o officiating . B u r ia l w a s in L ib e r t y Cem e tery. I s a a c R o s e n t h a l Isaac R o s e n thal, founder of the W a ldem e r e H o t e l in Shandelee, died M o n d a y in R o s c o e C o m m u n ity H o s p ita l at the age of 84 a f t e r a long illness. M r . R o s e n th a l founded the W a ld e m e re in 1919, and w ith h is b r o t h e r P h ilip converted a b o a r d ing fa r m into a popular resort fo r sin g le m e n and women. On June 11, 1963 a dis astrous fire k ille d three persons, injured seven others, and com p lete ly destroyed - the 170-room m a in building. T h e h o t e l was rebuilt. It now has 350 room s, a g o lf course, in door sw im m ing pool, and other fa c ilitie s o f the la r g e C a t s k ill re sorts. It is now ru n b y M r . R o s e n th a l’s son L o u is, and P h i l i p ’s son Abe. B o r n in R u s s ia M a y 10, 1882, M l R osenthal w a s th e son o f M y e r and F a n n ie R o s e n thal. H i s firs t w ife died in 1952. H e is survived b y h is second w ife; one son, L o u i s ; tw o brothers, P h ilip o f L iv in g s t o n M a n o r and H y m a n o f the B r o n x ; gran d c h ild r e n an d g r e a t -gran d c h ild r e n .
