A great demonstration was ma'te m Sentea Falls when “sod was broken” for the new road and everybody turned out tor a big jirlliflcrtion. When the ro.id was thus nearing completion, fraud, trick ery and greed .-^topped the enterprioe, and what had [iromised to be the great est financial blessing to Seneca Falls, was made its greatest curse and set- All our citizens hail with joy and read with great interest any rumors which apiiear to have any tound-ition in tact, that indicate a possible comple tion and operation ot the old r-iad. Such rumors have lately been heard, and we have taken some pains to learn the tacts, which are these Mr. Geo. rr. Norman ot Boston,whose abundant wealth and enterprise has 111 us the Seneca Falls water works ;em, sent some days ago, two engi neers here, who have tor several days been engaged in a careful inspection ot the old rotid bed of the P. AS. B. R. R. as tar smith as Romnln.s, and as lar north as Sodus, with a view to huihiing the roai'. Mr. Marvin and Mr. W eaver are gi-ntleinen ot intelligence amt good judgement upon mutters ot this kind, anti are .satisfied that the road can be made to pay. In tact, uo one has ever seemed to doubt but that the road could be made to be prulitalrk*. but some sort of a fatality has seemed to follow ev ery si'hcme to complete it.
