In the backfield, Scan Jun- son at 6' and 210 Ibs. and Chri.~ Behan at 6'1\ and ISO II)'.~. are sct to be running backs in '89. Coach Donegan believes the HE .. run· ning backs are as good a.'i any in their division, and he predicl'i they will be a definite scoring factor for the Cougars. Coach Donegan will continue to use the Veer type of offense, with split backs. Each play will give the quartetbock three options, depend- ing on his evaluation of the de- fense. Coach Donegan plans a 60 percent run40 pen:cnt In<lS blend of offense this year, with the triple option possibility making for an exciting brand of football and plenty of action for hometown suppa1CtS. Mike Bmneu. a tnIflS- fer student from Greece who has never played football before. has a fast set of wheels and will be working (rom the split end posi. tion. Coach Donegan believes Bennett's speed will help to open up the Cougar offense this year.
