(SENTINE~J On Our Street Volume #1, F..di1iou #1-107 Y tars Ago Today, William J, O'Brien published the first edition of The Honeoye Falls Times 107 years ago to-day, Thursday, Aug, 31,1882. 56 years later his son, McKendree (Mac) O'Brien, took over after his fa- ther's death. The rest is history. The JXOOlise projected in Mr. O'Brien's fmt editorial is not only interesting, it applies to to- days paper. He stated that the '11MES shall be thoroughly local in every respect--include every item of interest that transpires from week to week-and [be] a careful digest of the geneml news of the day\. We've lost the name but we've brought the paper back to Honeoye Falls and we shall stri ve to keep those words meaningful. Happy Birthday Belated indeed arc these wishes but no less sincere. Many happy returns to Tom Voorhees who celebrated on Aug. 6 and to John Horan who blew out the old candles on Aug. 16. Madge Pot- ter, Town Councilperson, cele- brated on Aug. 7 and Alan Over- slaugh watched number 41 come into his life somewhere between Aug. I and 5, we think. It must have been sometime near the big shave! Now, how we missed this one, we'll never know. Bob Loss observed the BIG day on July 24. Our very best wishes to all. Last, but not least we send good wishes to Cheryl Turner, Jerry Burr's secretary who celebmlr.d last week on the 24th. Did you notice how tastefully we missed any age ref- erence?
